Why is the US the most criminally violent ''First World'' nation of all?

    Pointless semantics.

Why do they put the Hispanic/Latino checkbox on college applications if it's an irrelevant classification?

And again, you don't need to explain any of this to me, you need to explain it to the people who put the Hispanic/Latino checkboxes on college applications, and people like AOC, who wear their "Latinx" identity like it's some sort of medal of valor.

I wouldn't say he's mentally challenged per say. He certainly is a 'victim' of far right divisive political propaganda with the 'democrat car thingie'. I would categorize him as an extreme 'hobbyist' which you can certainly find and achieve in the USA.
EDIT: I just saw the three female dolls/mannequins he converses with daily, I now know he's a full blown nut with an extreme arsenal.

You acted with bigotry, bias and prejudice, not to mention being incredibly disingenuous, but then I guess you need to be in order to promote your false agenda.

Might I suggest you seek out your 4th Grade English teacher on FacePuke and harangue him/her for failing to teach you the difference between "compare" and "contrast."

One compares two or more things that are similar. One contrasts two or more things that are different.

One may compare the governmental and political structures of the US and Switzerland, because they are both federal republics.

However, one may only contrast the societies of Switzerland and the US, because Switzerland is Italians, Germans and French (who are actually Latin-speaking Germans.)

    The US is a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-ethnic society.

One other thing you can contrast, is the number of large multicultural urban areas like Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, St Louis et al that have extreme violence with the the tiny cities in Switzerland that are uni-cultural.

How much crime do you expect to happen in a population of just 8 million people?

It does the opposite as you well know. Diversity is the source of racism.

This is the crux of it.

Switzerland is smaller than New Jersey.

It has a lot to do with the main ingredients of US history.

    1) This country was founded by religious rejects whose faith was so radical they were ostracized from their own countries.
    2) This same religious fanaticism also breeds distrust, intolerance, and ignorance.
    3) This country was founded on revolution, and married with the two above, winds up being a cyclical decline of which we are seeing to this day. It's also why we are in greater danger today of another world war because as a nation, that's how we run away from the sins of our past.

Without even needing to look, I am relatively confident that the data would confirm that the majority of violent crime is committed by those who are poor, or on that end of the wealth distribution spectrum. So I will re-offer my suggestion, which no one has yet commented on, that the thing that both we share in common with 3rd World countries, in which there is also a lot of violence, and which simultaneously distinguishes us from other 1st World nations (with much lower rates of violent crime), is our very large, and still growing,
    WEALTH GAP.

    Large diverse cities
    Incompetent government

It would be more accurate to say that our large cities are the most criminal. Most of the country really isn't. We have lived in our area for 38 years. There was a murder once back in the 1980's.

The Swiss are 95% Swiss. The US isn't 40% anything. We are a country of a hundred different mutually antagonistic countries and zGid alone knows how many ethnic groups and we now have a political hell bent on magnifying all those differences strictly for political and no that wouldn't be the Republicans. Add to that the fact that the same political party would rather have criminals running loose and committing mayhem in the streets than cops and the justice system taking them off the streets and way more than they would a citizenry willing and able to defend themselves from thugs.

OK so you think the crime rates (assuming you can trust local statistics) are lower than in the US? In your subject line you specifically said "First World" so I assume you were comparing the US crime rates to Western Europe and Japan, not Chad.

I don't have to explain it to them, because they already know Hispanic is not a race. You are the only one who is clueless about it.

Crime is measured as victims per 100 000 citizens, so the population size is irrelevant.

    For example: Intentional homicide rate
    Switzerland 0.6
    USA 5

25% of people in Switzerland are foreign born vs 14% in US.

Oh yes it does. Mexico and Central American countries already have inherent diversity.

In fact Mexico and many other Latin American countries probably have a higher level of diversity than the US, depending on how exactly you define it.

I must assume you just do not really know that much about Mexican society or other Latin American countries if you are saying this.

Many just from other countries in Europe.

So in this case, we have to be a little careful about how we define "diversity", because it is not just a simple number but there is also a quality to it.

(And also, typically even if someone from Asia or Africa moves to Switzerland, they are usually the wealthier ones, so that is also a factor)

I know, everyone seems focused on either RACE/diversity, ethnicity/immigration, drugs, or GUNS. But I pointed out to Kaz, that what those poorer, 3rd World countries have, akin to us, is a huge Wealth Gap, between the haves & have-nots. The U.S., l believe, also stands apart from other 1st World nations, as far as the magnitude of our disparity in wealth.

    What a delightfully ignorant response...
You claim that I have an 'obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief and/or opinion,' that is the topic of this thread yet fail to counter my claim. You accuse me of being 'bias and prejudice' no less! Just Wow! I guess someone was sleeping in class when tautology was being taught. Nevertheless, you are yet to prove it. Saying it, doesn't make it so.

Finally, you opt for the triple whammy of race, ethnicity and culture as the explanation for your nation being so criminally violent. We have already addressed this in this thread and discovered that the US ranks tenth in the list of top 10 multicultural nations. You boarder Canada, which is the second most multicultural nation yet nowhere near as criminally violent as the US, and the thread starter is from Australia, the third most multicultural nation, world wide and again, not in contention as a criminally violent nation.

Mircea, I apologize for comparing your nation to an equally militant republic, that is Switzerland, but I did, so there you have it! I'm sorry too that you should take such offense to the fact that your nation is so criminally violent, but it is a fact... a very sad fact, and I get the feeling that it has less to do with the people and much more to do with the rulers of the people.

I hope then, that this proves a nice segue from demographics to leadership.

And ours are largely from other North American countries like Mexico.

A few factors, but one I would add is a culture that emphasizes material gain over other values like honor (Japan) or family. This causes more murders than you would expect it's not just robberies but also jealousy and getting rid of a spouse for life insurance money. Another I would add is the war on drugs, which gives people looking for that material gain a high risk way to get there without legal recourse for their conflicts.
