The vaccinated can get asymptomatic infection and spread. Tell me the truth. Did you seriously not know that?

I figure that reason #1 is to protect yourself and avoid putting strain on an already strained healthcare system. Then there's the fact that other people, even fully vaccinated, may have a compromised immune system that makes them more vulnerable regardless, and it's a good idea to reduce their exposure as much as possible. Then there are those simply not yet eligible. We're only talking about vaccinating young children now, all these months after adults were approved to receive the vaccines.

Yeah have you noticed that they recently changed the definition of a vaccine before this a vaccine was supposed to prevent transmission to some degree.

I'll give you a pro hint if you have to change the definition of a word you might be using the wrong word

What does protecting yourself have to do with a vaccine mandate?

The only POSSIBLE logical reason for a vaccine mandate. Are you aware of any Western health system which is struggling?

So vaccinated people are not also a danger to these people?

We take them not just to protect ourselves but also those who are unable to vaccinate for a variety of reasons.

How does taking the vaccine help those who are unable to vaccinate?

We're not talking about masks and social distancing. We're talking about the vaccine. The vaccinated can get asymptomatic infection and spread. Simple!

the vaccine does prevent transmission to some degree, due to lessening the duration of infection

but this has always been what vaccines do

"cause a vaccine is not a condom for the body, it tries to train the immune system to fight the virus if you do catch it"

No a vaccine a real vaccine does not just make you less contagious if you are sick and genuine vaccine prevents you from getting the illness from someone who it is sick not simply passing it

Anyone can get asymptomatic infection and spread COVID.

That is NOT limited to those vaccinated.

There is FAR less spread of COVID by those who are vaccinated than by those who are not, according to the CDC, WHO and others.

Obviously. I wasn't suggesting that ONLY the vaccinated can get asymptomatic infection.

Then link to a source which supports that! You may be thinking about pre-Delta, when I believe there was good evidence for it. Delta destroyed it though.

"Why should people be forced to get the vaccine in order to protect others who choose not to get it?"

good question, why do we need to force people to do what is needed to protect others in the middle of a worldwide Pandemic?

you asked why we would need to force people to do something that would help others during a pandemic, what were you referring too?

you were the one that mentioned "others" in your question, who were you refering too?

I made it pretty clear: those "who choose not to get" vaccinated. Did you forget that you quoted that part?

I was asking who YOU mean by "others." So you mean the same as what I meant by "others?"

Okay, so those "others" have chosen not to get vaccinated. Why should people get vaccinated in order to protect these others who have chosen not to get vaccinated?

Because we are a society. Because we do not live by the 'law of the jungle'; because it is the decent thing to do.

Clearly you do not believe in personal responsibility. That's pretty typical for many on the left.
