Yes, either that or just provide a link to the post you're referencing. I don't believe you that you posted a definition of capitalism, so you're going to have to prove it to me.

Yes, please give me free money, but don't take away the existing welfare state. :)

Actually now that I think about it, the amounts proposed for basic income (about $500) are never high enough to replace the existing programs and on top of that put money in your pocket.

The standard proposition is to set the minimum at some poverty threshold and then, if necessary, include increasing marginal rates of tax to ensure suitable progressivity.

Basic income is just another scheme to take from some in order to dole out to others. Gotta give people their free stuff, even if it means taking from others.

Robbing Peter to give Paul the dole.

That's it exactly. The great majority of them haven't a clue what any of it (socialism or communism) actually is, but they do know that they want someone else to pay their keep while they pursue their 'art'. Or watch tv. Or gamble. Or do drugs. Or study utterly useless vanities at college.

They are utterly contemptible, and stupid along with it. Though soooo stupid, that you do sometimes wonder if it isn't more reasonable to feel sympathy, rather than contempt.

Which you can only do as long as Peter keeps producing at a higher rate. Which he won't, obviously. Who would?

That's how childlike these poor fools are. This fundamental of human nature never crosses their (tiny) minds.

The poster in question seems to enjoy throwing a word salad, then bolting.

So no reference to Adam Smith and his rejection of hyper rationality, providing a human nature understanding of the community gains from egalitarianism?

THE INFORMATION AGE THAT IS UPON US

Blah, blah, blah - typical rhetoric from mindless Replicants.

What make you think that you know how to think? Moreso, what you don't know nor can you foresee is the Social Democracy* tidal wave coming to the shores of America.

Where, in capitalist market-economies, the governmental priority is services to the citizens and NOT PREFERABLE TAX-RATES FOR THE RICH AND SUPER-RICH!

Down with an ridiculously high percentage of the National Budget (nearly 50%) that goes to just one agency (see here) - the DoD! We do not need it that large, neither does the world!

Spend the saved money on Tertiary Education for ALL OUR CHILDREN such that they can find good jobs in this new Information Age that is upon us.

The problem is that social democracy isn't being defined correctly. It involves more radical economic change than suggested. Crikey, Teflon Bliar said he was a social democrat...

We (in the West) have been practising 'egalitarianism' for decades. And yes, the community has gained immensely from having done so. ALL of us now have the same opportunity to acquire and secure the fundamentals (money, housing, food, etc). But since not all of us will choose to acquire and secure the fundamentals, do you plan to 'force' the non-players to acquire same? How will you do that? Will there be prison sentences for those who don't play the game?

You seem to be rambling. I'm just after your 'human nature' comment. Are you aware of Adam Smith's understanding of human nature and how its actually inconsistent with those darn right wingers abusing the invisible hand tag?

Heck, if you want to talk egalitarianism, how about Rawlsian social justice?

I'll try again. Are you aware of Adam Smith's understanding of human nature and how its actually inconsistent with those darn right wingers abusing the invisible hand tag (given our natrural tendency towards acceptance)? If you want to talk egalitarianism, how about Rawlsian social justice? Do you have an appropriate critique?

You're having a conversation with yourself - on a tangent (as usual), and filling in answers which appear to preserve your dignity. Knock yourself out, my Dude :)

Imagine actually giving comment: Are you aware of Adam Smith's understanding of human nature and how its actually inconsistent with those darn right wingers abusing the invisible hand tag (given our natrural tendency towards acceptance)? If you want to talk egalitarianism, how about Rawlsian social justice? Do you have an appropriate critique?
