Why was the right wing so up in arms over the Benghazi attack?

Aside from the unfortunate circumstances of their tragic deaths, why did those on the right insist upon all those taxpayer funded investigations and hearings? Why were so many taxpayer salaried Republicans spending so much of their work time on such an endeavor? No evidence ever emerged that was incriminating to anyone so why was there such a long ongoing and expensive effort over the death of 4 people?

 

Anytime a republican brings up benghazi the left says it's beating a dead horse. Why do you bring it up now?

 

I don't know.... when a US ambassador is dragged out of smoking ruins and murdered by jihadis it gets my knickers in a twist. I don't know how all the soy boy Obama-Biden-Clinton apologists feel about it. The media treated like just another random murder.

 

The administration was funnelling weapons to terrorists via Benghazi. The ambassador found out and was going to expose it, so they sic'd the terrorists on the embassy to silence him.

Four Americans died and the Obama administration lied through their teeth as to why and are still lying to this day.

 

So they could smear Hillary and put "Hillary lied and people died" bumper stickers on. Seems like it actually worked, because the decades of smear campaign against Hillary soured people and probably cost her the election (in addition to her running a poor campaign).

Of course, those same people who were outraged over Benghazi do not say a peep when 50,000 times more Americans died under Trump, while he was lying through his teeth. They don't even have the decency to express empathy with the millions of people who lost loved ones. All they care about is "don't make me wear a mask".

 

Because The Obama/Biden admin enacted a policy in Libya that ultimately allowed guns to get into the hands of jihadists linked to the Islamic State and al-Qaeda that were used against our own forces. The Obama/Biden gun-running during the Libyan revolution was directed by Hillary Clinton and Chris Stevens, her official envoy in Benghazi. Hillary Clinton’s State Department may have armed some of the very al-Qaeda terrorists who killed the four Americans who died in Benghazi after the admin realized that that the whole thing was a huge debacle and attempted to stop the arms transfers.

And this of course was my point. If my memory serves, the right accused the Obama administration of withholding crucial information which led to the death of 4 Americans and for issuing a some kind of stand-down order which exacerbated the situation, both of which were never proven to be accurate despite the incredible amount of time spent on the Republicans futile attempts to prove otherwise.

Now we have all the proof we would need for ten lifetimes that this so-called administration withheld crucial information from the American people and did whatever they could to prevent agencies and departments who would be instrumental in delivering the truth to stand-down which led to the death of over 200,000 and counting.

What is wrong with this picture? And who in their right mind does not see an astounding discrepancy! Trump and all complicate should be tried for crimes against humanity.

 

This goes way over the heads of some conservatives. We spent four years investing the President's response to an event that cost the
lives of 4 good Americans ... but now those same conservatives give a complete pass to the President's response to an event that has cost the lives of 200,000 good Americans. You would think they would at least ask for a couple of weeks of investigations?

With exception of the Progressive wing, I have given up all faith and confidence in the establishment Dems to be anything other than feckless and useless. In fact, I'm hoping that Pelosi gets primaried by the amazing brilliant Progressive who is challenging her. As for the Republi-cons, I expect just more of the same criminality, lack of patriotism and shameless power grabbing. Neither party is representing the people and have failed us miserably. Not trying to defend China here, but they released the covid-19 draft genome on January 11. What did the US do with it? They still basically had no tests in March, when the first wave started. We squandered 2 valuable months, with Trump pretending his travel "ban" would keep us safe.
