Will Putin poison Joe Biden to assure the reelection of Trump? Not enough to kill him but maybe enough to give Biden slurred speech and make him dazed and confused. Such a plan would require that Putin had a sleeper agent who had long ago infiltrated the upper ranks of Democratic campaign officials and has access to Biden.
Why would he do that? Russia's dealings with America are relatively minor compared to other places in the world that Russia has interests in. It probably doesn't matter to Putin at all who is elected. He didn't care about Bush, Obama, certainly not about Trump and wouldn't care about Biden either. Putin is actually confident enough in himself that it doesn't matter whom we elect as president. He can roll with it. Messing with our elections wasn't about influencing the results a certain way but more of a test to gauge our response and see how far they could actually go, just like they've been doing since WWII and the same thing we've been doing since WWII....just today instead of just military craft or nukes it is the internet and elections. Right now Russia is in a pretty solid position in the world, top of the food chain over there for the most part....what America does really has no impact on them.
