Not really. The Paleo Indians came over the Bering land bridge that joined Siberia to Alaska not much later than about 25,000 years ago, These tribes died out. But they were the first Indians, and there is no proof they were absorbed into other tribes. Even it they were it was as individuals, not "tribes" - a distinction we do not have today. Thus no tribe can legitimately claim North America as their own. In fact, this fact is never mentioned in California for political reasons because aboriginal means "being the first or earliest known of its kind present in a region". Obviously, later "Indians" are all interlopers and should not be getting special treatment anymore than English, Russians, Portuguese, Spanish, or French branches of the white tribe who planted their flags on the American continent wanting a piece of the newly discovered pie occupied by stone age people.
The white tribes were more technologically advanced, motivated, and aggressive. Who's fault is that? The "Indians" were complacent in an environment that met all their needs causing no need to evolve past the stone age. Life was pretty good.
So this whole racial stake holding argument is like blaming the great apes for not wiping out predecessors to homo sapiens while they had the chance!

Those lowly service workers should endeavor to do a lot better than minimum wage. And it it was that comfortable to do the bare minimum, I think many would do just that, harming the over-all economy.
As for unions, that's why I wrote it isn't going to happen in many cases. Buddy of mine is in a union and wants to opt out. Used to be able to do that. Not anymore.

So you do think Europeans did have a right to come and settle North America, bringing their people and culture?

Interesting. But the Indians would have stopped the Europeans if they could, just as we could stop miscellaneous foreigners from coming here if we wanted to.

They are coming in taking over some else’s culture like the Europeans did to the Indians.

Don't give Trump any ideas, I'm sure he'd ask to do that if re-elected.

Well then the immigration crisis could be called karma. European settlers came to America, and then moved west, for a better life, regardless of the detrimental effects on the previous inhabitants. Now they get the same treatment by other cultures looking for a better life. It's happening again, but at least it's not with guns, germs, and steel this time.

If the settlers had the right to displace the natives, then the immigrants have a right to displace too.

“The sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the sons.”

That is truly a vindictive position.

Are you ready to give up you home that you worked and saved to buy?

The big difference is that the Europeans worked hard to survive here. Many of these immigrants expect handouts.

This really shows that there are camps, and there no compromise to be found from the extreme left.

Well at least your consistent, I'll give you that.

But I'm curious why you consider the immigration crisis "karma?" I thought it was all blessings from immigration with no downsides and only upsides?

Calling it karma makes it sound like a bad thing.

I don't actually have a strong current opinion on whether it's good or bad. Just enjoying the irony. The same people who feel like it was okay to **** on native america now feel they are being shat on. Things change and I've accepted that. If you want to make a positive impact with policy, look to the outcomes. Are they coming due to handouts? Stop the handouts. Are they coming for jobs? Stop the jobs. Can't/won't do that? Accept the change. As with most things, it's driven by supply and demand.

Sad you think the person taking your order is such a lowly person.

Then your state is the problem, not the Union.

That's an interesting way to phrase that, since as far as I'm concerned, everyone who lives in America must "feel like it was okay to **** on native america" otherwise they wouldn't be in America. Implying that you are not one of those people is the fakest of fake morality. You are enjoying the spoils and somehow feel superior to those who are enjoying the spoils, just like you are.

They took over by force. If the aboriginal people asked that question, I doubt they had any ability to affect their answer.

False and asinine. I did not choose where I was born. People do not generally move to another country because they disapprove of something in their country’s past.

The irony is in people who approve of how America came to be, but disapprove of large numbers of immigrations today. That group is hypocritical and generally conservatives.

What do you mean ‘have the right’?
Europeans seized the opportunity, it was nothing to do with rights.

‘They’ are people migrating, not taking over a culture.
Are you suggesting America has a unique culture?
It is a place that is a mish mash like everywhere, although slaughtering little kids in schools might be a particular special feature of North America.

Many incomers work, used as cheap unregulated labour. Not getting handouts.

Of the two of us, I'm not the one that thinks so little of such a person as not thinking they have room for growth.

Are you under the impression no one is being deported now?

Of course not. Its a valuable campaigning tool, especially now that abortion is mostly off the table. If they wanted to fix it, they would have done it in 2012 when Senate passed (bi-partisan vote)a reform bill, which included a wall and all kinds of surveillance. But no, House GOP refused to even talk about it.

Fix it? Hell no. What would they campaign on if it was fixed? Transsexuals? That didn't work too well for DeSantis?

Sounds like you respect all cultures, unless they have something to do with White people. In those cases, it’s all crap.

You are not alone in your anti-White bias. I read an American history book about the period from the end of the Revolution to just before the Civil War. Every person of color was a wonderful; every White person was a racist. When the author hit the Mexican War, the U.S. was wrong (There are legitimate reasons to say that.), but for him, even the White Mexicans were bad, even though they were “victims.”

You don’t need to. You have made it clear. European and White American culture bad. Everyone else good.
