It seems that since the election the MSM has become so unhinged that I believe that we will see a liberal version of Infowars in the near future. Alternative and conservative media has gained in popularity in record numbers. Topics that used to be nothing more than a half crazed tinfoil hat conspiracy theory are now in the forefront and many people consider them to have some merit. So my question is will we see a liberal version of alternative media claiming that there's a global conspiracy of conservative elites?

"Mainstream media" as you people so often like to classify it as (while blatantly leaving out that Fox is part of it) hasn't become "unhinged" at all. If CNN or MSNBC are bashing Trump, that's a good thing. Let them keep at it, and reveal more of Trump's true colors. I don't believe we're going to have a radicalizing website like Breibart, or have escapees from mental institutions like Alex Jones, no.

Alex Jones is completely nuts. Obama staged the Sandy Hook massacre and the Boston Marathon bombing? The government controls the weather?
Say what you want about MSM, but you're not going to find anyone as mentally unbalanced as Jones at a real news outlet.
And btw, Donald Trump praises Jones as having "an amazing reputation." Because Trump is that ridiculous.

Alex Jones-like conspiracy theory is already mainstream on the left and has been for a long time. Van Jones, the former Green Jobs Czar, is a 9/11 truther. He was fired from that job not for being a truther though, it's because he was outed as a communist. Congressman Keith Ellison, who's running for DNC chair, is also a 9/11 truther. Rachel Maddow thinks that Republicans in Congress had inside knowledge that the Oklahoma bombing was coming, Michael Moore believes we knew where Bin Ladin was stashed the whole time...I could go on and on. That's not excusing right wing conspiracy theory, because there is plenty of that, but right wing conspiracy theories are not mainstream on the right, which is why you have an Alex Jones. Conspiracy theory is mainstream on the left however, so you don't need a special media left wing conspiracy guy.

What, are you saying fruitcakes like MSNBC's Keith Olbermann or Ed Schulz, and nutjobs like CNN's Piers Morgan (to name a few) weren't enough conspiracy-oriented news stories from the Liberal Left?

Believe me, now that we have a Republican president again, expect the news nut-shows from the Left to flourish again.

You're stretching. Rachel Maddow's one-time comment was based on the fact that Timothy McVeigh sent a fax to GOP Congressman Steve Stockman about the bombing. As it turned out, the fax was sent minutes after the bombing, not before. That doesn't make her a conspiracy theorist, just someone who got her facts wrong one time.
Alex Jones' whole existence is based on wacko conspiracies, and Donald Trump takes him seriously enough to give him press credentials.

You do not believe you will have a radicalizing Web site like Breitbart, Huffington Post, Slate, Salon, Daily Kos, Demicratic Underground, Politico do I need to keep going.

Okay, Democratic Underground is a bit shady (although the users there don't seem as disconnected as some of the conservative users here) but that's it out of your list. How about Fox News, Townhall, The Federalist, do I need to keep going?

They already exist; The Daily KOS, Saloon, MSNBC, and The Huffington Post . . . oh and Slate e-zine. What you perhaps mean is that will they go one toke over the line and remove the last of their restraints? Well . . . yes, they already have. Well most of them anyway, They collectively went INSANE when Trump beat Hillary.

And what is your reason for believing that ole Alex is right of center? Hell he was the main mover in the silly truther conspiracies.

Correct. I fully expect Keith Olbermann to end up working in a prime time position for MSNBC again in the near future.

I don't feel like I'm stretching. My point was that conspiracy theories are mainstream on the left. At one time, more than half of Democrats believed Bush was either behind or knew about 9/11. That's not one crazy on the internet, that's the Democratic base.

Firstly I'm not letting FOX off the hook either since they sold out. Secondly I was reffering to left leaning media outlets hence the thread title "will we see a liberal version of Alex Jones."

A nut job with some truth. While I believe in conspiracy theories such as 9/11 I don't listen to him.

Rachel Maddow qualifies. I can even cite reports made in PBS that qualify.

Millie Weaver is more than hot, she is awesome in her reports on his network.

Maybe Janeane Garofalo can resurrect her talk show, “The Majority Report” again.
