    The economy went into a tailspin in the second quarter of 2001 according to all the Fortune 500 companies that reported putting off expansions and implementing hiring freezes. Why didn't you know that? It followed the dot com bubble by 16 months. and 4 years later the housing crisis hit Florida and Vegas.
