It then must be constantly looking over your shoulder to detect the next suicide bomber or delivery truck headed your way ??

You are simply incorrect. Germany has some of the most expensive electricity in the world because of its over-reliance on alternative energy sources and they have periods in which they basically pay other people to take the electricity off their grid to keep it from frying when the winds are high and the sun is bright and clear at the same time. Every "free" watt of alternative power shifts that cost onto a watt of standby power.

I did - and my analysis is correct.

Obviously math is not your forte just as science isn't either.

Out of 73 listed incidents only 12 were Russian/Soviet.

Your "analysis" is utterly bizarre and that is being kind.

Thanks for sharing! I must admit that I had no idea. I thought the UK was almost completely nuclear.

Consider this: wind power is already cheaper than coal, and that is while amortizing the costs involved. Some years down the road when the debt is fully amortized, the only cost will be maintenance, producing essentially free energy as long as the turbine can continue to be maintained.

    Exactly!

I installed a passive solar hot water system and once the cost is amortized in about 5 years (from reductions in my electric bill) I will benefit from free hot water for as long as I maintain the system which could be up to 30 years.

Yes, I'm enjoying my solar PV system and residential wind turbine. FREE electricity. After some up-front investment, I don't worry about electrical utility bills!!!

is equivalent to ~ 1.5 nuclear power stations. Unfortunately only 164 homes per MW is the figure of merit for solar.

About $1,700 as I recall. Savings of around $300 a year assuming that the price of electricity doesn't rise.
