Or so says a rocket scientist named David Adair. This guy is talking about a close call the earth had in 2012, where three solar flares (or whatever it was ) came within a 100k miles of the earth, and had they hit us, it would have wiped out life. There was an event in the 19th century that had an extreme effect on the earth, but it wasn't strong enough to wipe out life, It was called the "Carrington Event" more info on it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_1859_geomagnetic_storm#:~:text=The September 1859 geomagnetic storm,September 1–2, 1859. Aside from the fact that he is being interviewed by George Noory, you might think the whole thing is in the kooky zone ( I can't tell, really. Maybe a kook can get it right, ever so often ). So, Mr. Adair says statistically speaking, we are over due for another big event, but, for $10 billion, we can prevent it. What I'd like to hear from if there are any budding astrophysicists or science guys/gals in the peanut gallery, or anyone knowledgeable, who confirm what this guy is saying. I'm no scientist, so I can't tell. He doesn't' start talking about it until 15:00 into the video, before that, they just talk about his history with his science projects. So, skip to 15:00
Well, he said some incorrect things. Like for example that the corona mass ejection takes 8 hours to get to Earth and it travels at the speed of light. Actually light from the sun takes 8 minutes to get to Earth. So, maybe he said some things that are off. Well, I didn't remember anyone saying that a corona mass ejection would wipe out all life on Earth, but anyway, I'm glad we missed being hit by a coronal mass ejection in 2012. I like computers and technology and don't want to lose access to the internet and power for months or years.
Depends on the size, and it wouldn't be instantaneous, it would be a domino thing, as he explained it. But, I don't know I think he said that the CME travels close to the speed of light, and it would take 9 hours or so. I'll have to listen to it again. The whole thing he's into is getting the "Shield Act' passed, which would fortify the grid to withstand a millions of volts surge such an event would afford. He was complaining that some female 'never trumper' senator wasn't letting it get out of committee, or something like that because she didn't want Trump to succeed, which ain't right. We need that act passed. We are vulnerable, apparently.
I'm in favor of shielding ourselves from another Carrington Event. It also will provide EMP protection.
David Adair is a UFO kook. There's no evidence backing up his claims of being a boy genius who built a hypersonic fusion-powered rocket at age 17 and was invited to Area 51 to see the better alien technology. That's his main schtick. Hating on Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is a side thing. He claims she blocked the EMP defense bill to hurt Trump, but that blocking happened in 2010 and 2013. Take that into account when assigning him a credibility score.
