How does having more people working at any times in our history, having the lowest unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics, in their history and having the highest stock market in our history and the biggest wage gains sense 2007 working for you? September 8 at 5:12 AM ·

    Record 157,878,000 Employed in August
“The number of people employed in the United States hit a record 157,878,000 in August, the 21st record set under President Donald Trump, according to the employment report released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics,” Susan Jones reports for CNS News.
“The unemployment rate held steady at 3.7 percent. For blacks, the unemployment rate dropped to a record low of 5.5 percent last month. And for Hispanics, the... Unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in August, which ties the record low set earlier this year.”

“It’s been a lost summer for the Washington Post,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham and Principal Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley write in the Washington Examiner. “Despite record-setting accomplishments in record-setting time, data shows the news coverage of Trump has been 92% negative. The most egregious and dangerous forms of this bias thrived this summer at media outlets like the Washington Post, which routinely masquerade opinion as news.”

A whopping 266,000 jobs was created in November, with 54,000 manufacturing jobs created. All the while Canada lost jobs. Economist are blown away and Biden predicting a recession.

Pay gains under Trump best since the Great Recession
    www.cnbc.com/2018/01/31/pay-gains-under-trumps...
Jan 31, 2018 · Pay gains during Trump's first year in office best since the Great Recession. The Employment Cost Index, a measure of salary and benefit costs, registered a 2.6 percent gain for the full year, tied for the best since 2007. That gives President Donald Trump the best wage gains since the Great Recession, easily topping any during former President Barack Obama's entire term.

People are not educated on socialism, what happens to a socialist country and those that vote Democrat are in fact voting for Socialism. They have drank the koolaid and listened to the fake news. Why do they care about the economy when they think they will get everything for free?

It really is a window into the mindset of the left.

Whats fun right now is they all pledged to be super nice to each other about primary candidates, and now they are turning on each other.

Because Presidents have very little to do with the economy and what they do, takes a lot of years full of incremental changes. Trump does not get too much credit or blame until several more years of consistent policy initiatives and more appointments to the Fed. We are due for a major market correction in the near future regardless of who gets elected in 2020.

Seems more like democrats might be more socialist and less American than we thought.

All Obama did was blame Bush, and then tried to take credit for Trump.

Trump is not socialist, he is actually communist. That commie swine has overpriced LNG, which cat compete on the German marekt and since it cant compete on the free market he tries in a facist manner to block a german pipeline project in an attempt to force his over priced LNG here.

He is a communist swine, that and nothing else.

I think it follows the 30-30-30 general rule: 30% of Democrats will support whatever their party leaders say; 30% pay no attention but vote Democrat because they always have; Trump can get up to 30% max of the Democrats at the absolute best -- not one Democrat voter more, maybe much less, and it does not matter a bit how the country or Trump is doing.

While I think both parties have gone off the rails, one could easily say that that party the President belongs to is not a guarantee of long term success.

The Clinton economy was very strong for a number of years, but ended in the dot com bubble. The Reagan years seemed ok, but were paid for with a 170% rise in the Federal debt. The Bush years started strong, but two wars and a banking debacle ended that. The Obama years started with a slow recovery from a very deep recession and just kept moving slowly toward a better result.

Trump benefited from starting from an ok position on unemployment and a long streak of weak, but positive economic numbers and the fact that both wars were winding down. But on the horizon is the unprecedented personal debt bubble. Will it burst before he leaves office? Or will it be left for the next guy?

Every economic metric has remained on the same unchanging trend line since 2010. Why on earth would you credit trump or republicans for that? Do they have a time machine?

The entire economy will collapse because Washington is out of control. Its power is way beyond what the Founding Fathers intended.

The only question is when the collapse will occur. 2020? 2040? 2060?

There are a couple indications this is not a good economy for most Americans:
    - half of Americans don't own any stock and can't handle a $400 emergency without begging/borrowing/stealing
    - rising healthcare costs are swamping any wage gains
    - epidemic of suicide and drug use
    - right track/wrong track numbers in every poll are massively underwater
    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/direction_of_country-902.html

And if the economy is good, why does it need a trillion dollars in deficit spending to prop it up? And is below-3% GDP growth OK with Republicans now? Because it certainly wasn't OK with them when it was Obama.

Those same Americans will not be investing in stock even if they are making more money. They spend until they run out, and then borrow. Thats how they were raised and their kids will consume their way into desperation as well. (On a side note, anyone raising children should teach them how to save/invest. There is a game called Cash Flow for Kids I recommend.)

Rising healthcare costs are the result of record levels of illness. Americans are fatter and sicker than ever and most of what is making/keeping them that way is subsidized.

Speaking of subsidized pharm products, there is a mass marketing campaign pushing drugs that list suicidal thoughts or actions as a side effect.

The real issue IMO is that Americans have become lazy. Unwilling to do what it takes to maintain mental health, they turn to pills. Saving/investing would require giving up on luxuries and instant gratification. Exercising and preparing a healthy meal for the family is just too much work. Drive thru and Netflix!

Speaking of taking the path of least resistance, spending by both parties is out of control and lazy Americans keep electing lazy politicians. This will continue until we reach the tipping point.
