do you think the responsible person who spends money and time attending trade school in hopes of earning a $15/hour starting wage is going to appreciate earning the same amount as our pimple-faced hamburger flipper? wouldn't they also demand a substantial raise? (a main reason why the costs of goods and services would substantially increase...along with unemployment...which means more people on the dole (<--- good!..in leftist circles)

 

Capitalism with a dash of socialism works. There needs to be safety nets like Medicaid and food stamps and a minimum wage, unions, and other regulations. However, for the most part a free market works better than the government.

The one industry that needs more government oversight is healthcare. It is really a mess and I'm not sure what the answer is. Some say Obamacare was intended to be so complicated that it would lead to Universal Healthcare. Wealthy people are already subsidizing insurance for poor people already anyways. Why not cover everyone (much less bureaucracy)and get rid of insurance companies that are making a killing?

I'm sure this just all got muddled in the "nuance" of her demand that as a part of the legislation that ALL corps with more than 1B in revenue would be run by government. I know, this isn't what you thought you were told, but, it is, none the less, the truth about what ms Warren is actually advocating here. There have been enough reporting here to know this. WSJ, Bloomberg, etc have all wondered aloud just how ms Warren can justify this wholesale nationalization of US industry and corporations.

There's 95 million citizens no longer counted as employed or unemployed. And there's 27 million legal and illegal immigrants in our workforce. That's 17 percent of the ENTIRE WORKFORCE.

Trump & Company mantra If you're rich, you deserve it, if you're poor you deserve it. It doesn't account for guys like Manafort and Trump running around lose. Or pimps and drug lords. Or rich kids that inherited everything. Those folks don't belong in the same category as Warren Buffet or Bill Gates.

Then there are poor folks who game the system, haven't held a job for generations, and don't intend to work. They're not in the same category as soldiers disabled in combat, disabled and infirm, the aged, and a host of other reasons.
