I went into a store and bought a product which a sales person helped me with. His pay is hourly plus commission.

After he helped me out and I decided on purchasing the product, another sales person, who was watching our transaction, comes up and asks if I was ready to purchase the item, to which I replied, 'yes', but would like for the sales person who assisted me to ring me up. He said sure, took the package to the register and began to ring up the sale. As I was watching this worker begin to ring up the sale and the sales person who helped me get 'ignored' by the one who was ringing me up, I asked the original sales person if I could take another look at the product. So he grabs the product from being rung up, brings it to me, and I begin inquiring about other 'accessories'. He begins explaining the different accessories, gives me a few ideas and it was then I asked if he worked with commission. He said yes. And so after I picked up an accessory to go along with my original item, I politely asked him if he could be the one who rang me up since I wanted him to get the commission off the sale. He politely obliged and we were both 'happy' with the sale.
