If you put the POTUS 'under oath' for every effing lie the MSM and other agenda-driven liars (think Stormy Daniels?) tell about him, he wouldn't have time to run the country.

Given the choice the American population had, why would anyone NOT vote for Trump?

Hollywood? No, no. The B'stard from Hollywood was "Bonzo" Ronald Reagan. You know, the guy who brought you the illegal invasion of Grenada, "Iran Gate", and the war in Nicaragua.

your right, Trump lies so much if we questioned him on every one of his lies, he wouldn't have time to destroy the country.

I wish I could see your face (to see if you are joking) when you outrageously insinuate that Hillary Clinton would be (or would have been) an asset to the country.

Oh, man! Now I know you're joking. You'd be dodging Russian bullets in the Baltics and Russian missiles at home right now if Hitlery had been elected.

There's no room for two puppet masters and Trump is already "tied up". Putin is a chess player, not a puppeteer.

So . . . you are mad that they all "look the same" . . . because they are so diverse? And if you don't think that LGBTs and "midgets" can be "decent people," then yeah, we've located the problem.

I don't consider 10 year old movies to be very old. The Marvel Cinematic Universe started in the same year and it is considered pretty new. Some other good ones are Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014), and Dunkirk (2017). The latter two are not as well liked by some, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. Probably Christopher Nolan's perfect movie is Inception because it had great action, had great critical success, great box office success, did the time bending thing Nolan likes to do perfectly, and the story is just do mind-bending and layered.

Indeed. It actually goes back to Broadway presentations in NYC before Hollywood became the entertainment center of the USA. Mercedes Acosta was particularly fascinating.

I liked all three of those movies. But here is what I am getting at. In 1986, here were the more popular movies:
    Aliens - Like it
    Platoon - Loved it
Ferris Buellers Day Off - Liked it
Stand By Me - Liked it
The Color Of Money - Liked it
    Top Gun - Liked It
    The Fly - Loved it
    Blue Velvet - Meh
Children of a Lesser God - Liked it
Big Trouble in Little China - Loved it
    Manhunter - Loved it
    The Mission - Loved it
    Crocodile Dundee - Liked it
    Highlander - Loved it
The Rivers Edge - Loved it
Back to School - Loved it (because of the person I saw the movie with, saw it on July 4, 1986)
    Heartbreak Ridge - Liked it
    Short Circuit - Meh
    Three Amigos - Liked it
    F/X - Liked it
Down and Out in Beverly Hills - Meh
Little Shop of Horrors - Liked it
    9 1/2 Weeks - Liked it
    Hoosiers - Meh
Hannah and her Sisters - Meh
    Labyrinth - Meh
Star Trek IV - Liked it
Pretty in Pink - Liked it

That was a single year and it had more movies that I liked than the last decade. The cultural impact of some of those movies was huge. Can you say the same for the movies of the last few years?

I think you picked a good year, but my opinion of this movies aren't as high as yours. Here is my evaluation of some those movies and the rotten tomatoes audience rating:
    Aliens - Like it
    Platoon - Loved it
Ferris Buellers Day Off - Ok
Top Gun - Ok, haven't finished
    Crocodile Dundee - Liked it
    Highlander - Ok
    9 1/2 Weeks - Ok
    Labyrinth - Ok
Star Trek IV - Liked it

Here are some from 2018 I've seen:
Avengers: Infinity War - Loved it
    Aquaman - Liked it
Solo: A Star Wars Story - Didn't like it, didn't finish
    Black Panther - Liked it
Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse - Like it, need to finish
    Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom: Meh
    Ant-Man and the Wasp: Ok
    Bumblebee: Ok
    Deadpool 2: Meh
    Ready Player One: Ok
    The Nun: Ok
    The Cloverfield Paradox: Liked it
    A Quiet Place: Loved it
    The Meg: Meh
    I Feel Pretty: Ok

On principle I will no longer watch sequels or super hero movies. From your list that leaves 5 movies compared to my list of 28 movies (of which only one was a sequel).
    Ready Player One: Ok
    The Nun: Ok
    A Quiet Place: Loved it
    The Meg: Meh
    I Feel Pretty: Ok

That is my point. But thanks for your recommendation, I am going to watch A Quiet Place ( I did start Ready Player One and turned it off about halfway through).

For the record there were even more movies from 1986:
    Ruthless People: Loved it
Peggy Sue Got Married: Liked it (this was at a time when everything Nicholas Cage did was great)
The Golden Child: Liked it (but this was where Eddie Murphy movies really began to decline)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer: Liked it (a truly disturbing movie)
Sid and Nancy: Liked it (Sex Pistols fan)
The Name of the Rose: Liked it
The Money Pit: Liked it (at the time I was a huge Shelly Long as well as Tom Hanks fan)
Down and Out in Beverly Hills: Meh
    Critters: Hated it
    Maximum Overdrive: Hated it
    The Hitcher: Meh
Police Academy 3: Meh (I was a fan of the first one and just kept watching the sequels)
Howard the Duck: Never watched but it became a famous flop (like the Money Pit)
    Poltergeist II: Never saw it
    An American Tale: Meh
Iron Eagle: Never saw it but it was relatively popular at the time
Something Wild: Never saw it but I want to see it (Jeff Daniels is in it)

Basically I have gone from watching a couple dozen or more movies a year to maybe one or two. The last movie I liked was Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Wind River I also liked. Most modern movies I can only start and they are so bad I can't finish.
