And it is his job to distill the information provided by these agencies down to the pertinent details required by the President to make the decisions he needs to make. I very much doubt that any President knew of every office that prepares this information, nor did they need to.

They provide information to the president every single day, in his daily brief. It's not an obscure or arcane part of the community
