I'm so going to have to pick up Pillars of the Earth, I've seen it a million times.

I read so many books, I'm not sure that I have a favorite, though To Kill a Mockingbird is definitely on the short list. The Kite Runner is a magnificent book, if you haven't read it. I'm in the process of reading the last Harry Potter again right now.

You won't regret it. Everybody I've lent it to tells me it became their favourite book after reading.

I can't even ruin it by talking it up too much. It's that good.

God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens
A newer book but a great read especially for anyone who's lost their religion. It's helped me very much with my own internal conflicts and having to deal with nearly everyone in my life being religious.

I think Nietzsche's ideas look so sweet at first, because it targets your pride, but time proved that he was wrong.

Since I do academics all day every day, I tend to read fluff when I have spare time for enjoyment.

I have been reading mostly

Lee Child books. All of them are about a vigilante ex marine who kills bad guys and solves cases.
Stephen King - I just reread the Stand. Going to start the Duma Key very soon.
Salvatore - he is a god, but lots of people diss him.

I am a big Leo Tolstoy fan! My favorites of his are: War and Peace, Anna Karenina, and the Death of Ivan Ilych! I also read The Kingdom of God is Within You, which is nonfiction by tolstoy, and very good!

Notice how the farther down the list you go, the smaller their balls get.
