No - you should be. I agree with you entirely. I was horrified when Mike did that - and gave him the standard lecture about selfishness, death on the roads, irresponsibility etc. He claims that's why he did it at 4am, because there were NO cars around (and that's true in Perth - there weren't) but still - not really acceptable.
Like I said - I work in orthpaedics. I see the results of this kind of stupidity all the time.

My county is fairly rural and any accidental death is a big deal here. My office manager is married to the local justice of the peace. They each had motorcycles and enjoyed getting together with other cyclists. He was called out on one too many motorcycle deaths and sold both motorcycles that same week. In the wreck that happened last night, the kid had to be speeding, but too often, it's just a matter of not being seen.
I had a motorcycle accident when I was 16 and still learning. Didn't make a curve and hit the curb. I went flying across the yard and was stopped when my shoulder hit the edge of the driveway, popping my (thankfully helmeted) head down against the concrete. I jumped back on the bike and rode it home mad. I didn't think I had anything worse than a little road rash on my arm until I went to get a drink and found out I couldn't lift my arm. It was only a sprain, but I realized how bad it could have been. I was only going about 15-20. I've only ridden a couple of times since then. I obviously have no skill for driving one.

I was born in the UK, my service at 16 and some month, I was brought up with my two brothers to dislike bullies, my Dad was quite a good am/boxer, who had fought the fascist in the east end of London, partly because he was a Jew, partly because he was a socialist, partly because he liked a ruck,( he was also trained J D L) so we had the skills,(like him we could strip a Bren and rebuild blindfold) my Dad and I were at odds with each other, so I left home at 15 and a half, I was near some months before june, so when I heard the rhetoric comming from the Arabs ( mufti of jer, that said we will wipe jews of the face of the earth men, women, and children)I was angry not because of my blood, my loyalty is to the country of my birth, and it was all "hands to the pump" I was lucky I got hurt, when you are young your body heals quick, my head is still healing!
I like living some of the year in Croatia, even in the period just after the war. I do not like the nationalism, or war, but I like being with warriors, you would understand thatall pics 358.jpg, my brother in laws Dad, a Tito partisan, communist,of great repute! we cannot communicate very well he has no english and I have little croat, we are best friends, he is a person that I take notice of and he of me! Croat's in general are anti semites so I have had some probs there mainly with the uniforms, in the early days.(I like it) My father in law was an officer in the Yugo Navy in Subs, he is from Drnis, where the Serbs had a bad impact(his wife is a Serb) a fearless and frightening man still! I dislike bullies and I want a secure life and home for Palastinians and Israeli's |

The addiction to the "rush" dims only with age. My brothers and I were had a very priviledge childhood,my Dads close friend was course sec of Oulton Park R/track, Mike the Bike taught us to ride first a Honda Monkey bikehttp://www.mikethebike.com/index.html. When he road for works honda I could not understand how a bored out 250cc to 254cc honda could beat 350cc bikes. I loved it when the 1275cc Cooper S's thrashed Dan Gurney (a good guy and fine driver) in his massive engined US clunker,my Cooper S was a strange yellow color but it was like a bullet then. Troy Kennedy Martin worked with my cousin he was older than me, we had fun racing my class 4 gokart, later he liked my Cooper S google his name. |

Skoda is, I think, the second oldest car manuafcturer in the World today. They are based in Mladá Boleslav, which is in the Czech Republic.
Here is another one in my collection for you to enjoy. The picture was taken with a camera phone, so quality isn't too good - but what a great looking car? Nice and menacing ![]()
