He got busted entering a newly finished tunnel off our freeway at four in the morning going over 150 miles per hour (the speed limit was 49) and his speed camera photo made it to the front page of the paper. He lost his license for 18 months. So he had to ride everywhere. And not on his Ducati. Still, he says it was worth it

Ok - I've edited this. Done some research. Yes there were only 250 ever made. It was a Ducati 916 Senna II and here is what it looks like:

VERY nice. I love motorcycles. Would never ride one though (although it's a recurring dream I have - I like that dream). I work in orthopaedic surgery and I've seen what can happen when you're on the losing end of a motorcycle accident.
Sweeet bike.

Bit morbid naming it after an F1 driver that got killed going +130mph into a wall... but hey, very nice ride indeed.

In the wreck that happened last night, the kid had to be speeding, but too often, it's just a matter of not being seen.

I had a motorcycle accident when I was 16 and still learning. Didn't make a curve and hit the curb. I went flying across the yard and was stopped when my shoulder hit the edge of the driveway, popping my (thankfully helmeted) head down against the concrete. I jumped back on the bike and rode it home mad. I didn't think I had anything worse than a little road rash on my arm until I went to get a drink and found out I couldn't lift my arm. It was only a sprain, but I realized how bad it could have been. I was only going about 15-20. I've only ridden a couple of times since then. I obviously have no skill for driving one.

Which is why I trained my dog to wear a helmet.

LOL! There's a guy who lives near us that always has his Jack Russell in his jacket when he goes anywhere on his motorbike. The dog barks its nuts off but seems to be having fun. I'm torn between the potential danger of it and the extreme cuteness of it. It's really funny.

Ducatis are around $20,000.00 here in the States. That is simply not a bike I can afford, so it's a just a dream. I am very happy with my Kawasaki ZX-14. It is docile in the mid-range for daily commuting.

Motorcycles are unforgiving to mistakes, and it is a risk. I have been fortunate to have not had a serious accident and I've never laid the bike down. I pray to St. Christopher to keep me safe.

Well the speedometer says my bike will do 200 mph, but I doubt I'll ever see that. I am not that crazy and will not take unnecessary risks.

Those pictures were taken in North Carolina. I rode from the Atlantic to the Pacific over the Summer '07, to clear the cobwebs from my head.

i hear what you are saying and until recently i felt that way after losing my 17 year old english springer. but my daughter insisted on a puppy (right before leaving for college ... go figure). that 74 pound lap dog makes me laugh all the time ... not that evil, sarcastic laughter i get after reading some stupid posts on this forum but the real, healthy laughter that keeps you young. find another dog to love ...
