There's nothing wrong with being over-opinionated, just as long as you keep studying the facts and know your history. Don't argue or try to debate someone about something you are not sure of.

Hey and welcome. Good to see someone of your age interested enough to join a forum to learn more.

I'm interested - your political views, do they come predominantly from your parents and as you've got older have you learned enough and become informed enough to agree with them? Or are you `independently' conservative, as it were?

I'm not trying to patronise you - I'm genuinely interested. My political bent came from an early age from my parents, but as I've got older it's been through a combination of things. My father is far more conservative than I am - on some issues - my mother is far more left than I am - on most issues.

What is the foundation for your beliefs?

Don't worry, you will see the light!!! I was a republican at 15 too, and now at 23 I saw the light long ago!! There is still hope, so don't let the fact that you are a republican bring you down too much!!

From where I'm standin', there ain't a whole lot of difference between 15 and 23, junior.

Well, considering that I have now lived on my own for 4 years, and my entire political ideology changed since then! I think it is huge! High school is like a bubble, where nothing else really exists of importance(in high school kids minds) outside of it!

Actually, a person changes and becomes who they are more from 15 to 23 than any other time in a person life! Once they get to your age billybob, people get set in their ways! Like you and your hatred for black hobbits!

I hated black hobbits when I was 15 and 23, too! I am consistent in my hatred.

yea my parents are conservative and republicans too
but through my own experiences i have formed my own beliefs
some of them are different from my parents

The mods should delete the first post or modify it.

It is not appropriate for a 15 year old to be giving personal information, particularly in a place that is mostly frequented by adults, and adults who engage in frequent sexual banter or inuendo.
