As expected...
The Soviet Union failed because their socialist economic system could not meet the demands placed on it by the Soviet government which needed to be met for the safety and well being of the Soviet people. People will not work unless given incentive, and that is why the government eventually fell apart. Reagan's threats of SDI pushed the Soviet's spending farther than their inferior economic system could handle, even with all of their oppressive measures to keep their people working.
