Hello all, i am Kazikli Bey, but feel free to call me Kaz or KB.

A little about myself. I'm from Adelaide, in the great country of Australia (i live in the only state not set up as a convict colony). I'm a member of a few other boards, but i am a moderator on another political board as well.

I would consider myself an Independent, though i call myself a Self-Fashioned Humanist. To put that into perspective:

I am against abortion as a means of birth control. I came to that belief through my faith but i do not argue it from a religious pov. I am for abortion in the case of rape or if it threatens the mother's life.

I am for gay rights, though i wouldn't call them gay rights because we're all human and sub-dividing people because of their lifestyle is just discriminatory. When i say i am for gay rights, i mean the ability to have a marriage recognized by the state, and right to adopt, etc.

On fiscal policies, i would say that i am a socialist. I prefer a progressive tax system, welfare, etc.

On foreign policy, i would consider myself pragmatic. Don't fight when the pen is mightier then the sword, give aid to countries in need, give aid to democratic movements within authoritarian regimes, etc. That said, i support staying in Iraq until we bring stability to the country and they are able to stand on their own two feet (though, i do not agree with the reasons for going in).

The Gun Rights, i have nothing against people owning guns, i just have a problem with people being allowed to carry them around wherever they choose. I believe that there should be a 'Right to Carry' permit that is required for people to bear arms outside their homes, with the exception of if they are going to a shooting range or going hunting.

There are many more, but i'll let you find them out as i we go along.
