Hi and welcome to this new board. Sometimes it can be comforting to come to a new board but still check in with your friends from the old board and chat and talk.

We have set up a social group specifically for you just to come over and say hello and chat up the usual baseball and personal small talk that makes up our lives. Its not a group for political debate.

We tried this with a couple of threads and some disgrunted people showed up with the intent to close the thread by breaking the rules of the board by making personal attacks. Because of this, we made the board by invitation only.

So if you like to be set up so you can check in with old XM fan members who are here on the group board (XMFan Truth Seekers), please PM me, Ziggae_6. Note that membership is not limited only to old XMFan people. There are some nice people who have met us and just wanted to chat too. I was tempted to say we're old farts, but we've met some great younger people too, so I know age doesn't guarantee maturity or friendliness.

So if you would like to be included, PM me, so I can set you up.

This is an excellent idea, Zig. We can't expect the mods who, with few exceptions, do a great job on such a daunting website to know the various personalities bent on destruction of any civil conversation. This way, we can all keep in touch without having to endure the sneering, giggling buffoons who drove us away from the other place and now, finding it to be dull, dry and dead, followed us here seeking new troll-sports.

I commend you, sir! And yes, I would hope to open it up to whoever wants to join -- liberal or conservative. Just have "something to say".

It looks like we still have people coming over.

I had a conversation with many members at the old XMFAN site on Thursday and discussed why it was unattractive to post there because my last couple of posts kept being deleted even though they didn't violate any rules.

Of course, the thread entitled "Discussing Censorship" was deleted.

Its pretty ironic since many of them think Political Forum is highly moderated, and they claimed that the old site allows more freedom. Whatever.

If you're coming from XMFan and want to hook up with the old members, please PM me.

Based on the folks who have come over already, I say the more the merrier!

I think that, at this point, they all pretty much know better. And the fact that they prefer to be in a forum where there is non-existent moderation... except for whatever Zig or any of the other refugees writes in there, pretty much speaks to what kind of forum they want... one in which they are free to flame and troll with impugnity. There are a few fellas I would like to see in here that haven't made it yet. But then there are QUITE a few more that I would never care to see or hear from again.
