Not quite.

In comparison to McCain or Obama, Bush is just as (*)(*)(*)(*)ty as the rest.

How is being anti-Obama being pro-Bush?

The biggest loudmouths and pushers of partisan crap on the forum happen to be more represented by the right. Avoid the Elections forum and the site appears far more moderate.

I think there are slightly more conservatives than liberals and certainly more right-wing fanatics than left-wing fanatics (or at least they post more)... but it's a bit much to claim this site itself is overwhelmingly right-leaning.
We have a pretty good balance compared to other forums.

Actually the large number of anti-Obama people could suggest that McCain will lose the election. Remember there were a lot more anti-Bush people than pro-Kerry people in the last election, and look how that turned out...

I don't think anybody was pro-Kerry. Even Teresa voted for Bush.

Yeah, I can't help but notice the parellels...
Bush was a candidate people either loved or hated. Kerry... most people were just not excited about the guy.

But it is possible that the demographics are different.
The Democratic tent contains more wayable moderates than the Republican tent (just look at the numbers of self-proclaimed conservatives v. self-proclaimed liberals and compare to size of the parties themselves... Assuming that most conservatives are Republicans and most liberals Democrats, the majority of the Republican base is immutable while the majority of the Democratic base is swayable- this is reflected in election data... Democrats are more likely to break with their party on presidential votes).
I also think that conservatives are more likely to respond to hatred of the "other guy" than liberals and especially moderates.
The more hated Obama becomes (which will be predominantly from conservatives) the more likely the base will show up.
If McCain were equally hated, we could more likely expect low voting turn-out than negative voting.

So the parellels may be weak.
But then again, Clinton was loved/hated vs. Bush 41 who was just not exciting- but this in many ways involved Ross Perot... a way bigger "spoiler" than Nader.

I was an Obama delegate for my town. The more that things heat up, and the hysteria begins, the less I am likely to participate in the election threads. Wait until one of them becomes President and then we will really have things to complain about.

I am pro-GW and love the guy.

I think he is way to liberal on many issues
but
He has done the right thing in Iraq and has beaten the Libs at every turn when he pushes Conservative ideals.
