Evil Men in the Gardens of Paradise
Greetings. I am Leoben Conoy, a 21 year old male from the Pacific NW in America. My profile says a little bit about me, but I figured I should talk about myself a little bit so people know what to expect and also what kind of man I think I am.
I was a member here earlier this year but I grew bored, but now I'll try again.
I am an atheist, and it has been that way for a long time. I don't like organized religion because it seeks to enslave men's souls. (Men as in "humanity", not meant to be sexist) However, i believe it is necessary to allow religion, because a pacified population is easiest to control, pragmatically speaking.
I enjoy the teachings of LaVey, Hobbes, and Nietzsche above all others. While LaVey was a humanist who taught us how to act and live, Hobbes taught us that man is naturally a horrible creature with a propensity towards cruelty, and only through control may the rest of us who reject such cruelty live a nice life. Hobbes said something like "Man is his own wolf". Then there's Nietzsche who taught us the value of seeking our own opinions, and rejecting society's morality. "God is dead, and we have buried him." I still believe that even if there is some God up there, it's completely and utterly irrelevant because it won't change us nor keep us content, our bellies full, and stimulate us. "Do you know how useless prayer is? Chanting, and singing, and mucking about with old half-remembered lines of bad poetry? And you know what it gets you? Exactly nothing."
I have an attitude. I am not overly egotistic to the point of unconstructive egotism, and I'm not so arrogant as to be an ass to everyone, but if someone is rude to me, I am very Satanic in my response and this makes me gain many enemies. Generally I don't screw with people unless they screw with me... and that's only when it's sweaty and rough screwing.
The thread title refers to a poem I wrote which I will put up ASAP in the appropriate subforum.
