well in Austin Texas, gas is actually alot cheaper. I am currently on vacation in the northeast and I am finding that gas is mostly 4.20 and up, i even saw 4.85. in texas it is still in the range of 3.79 to 4.09. It's mostly 3.89

But, I remember in either 2001 or 2002, gas went down a little. Then, gas was normally about .87 to a dollar for about a month. This was before the sharp rise in prices.
