That is wrong, Joe.

Gas was $.999 here in Southern California in 1999 and 2000. Because Southern California has typically higher gas prices than the rest of the country, I am willing to trust that TEXAN has seen $.879 gas in Texas.

I tried to find the info for this, and I found that exact graph, and look at the statement:

"The following plot shows how much I paid for each gallon of gas I bought over the past 28 years or so. The data has a somewhat varied pedigree. Most of the purchases from 1979-1982 were in the Rio Vista/Fort Worth, Texas area. From late 1982-1983 was from College Station/Rio Vista about equally. From 1984-1987 was a Rio Vista/College Station/Houston mix and from 1987 on has been mostly Houston with a little Fort Worth thrown in. Just about everything pre-1984 was full service and everything since has been self-serve. Every tank shown was "super" unleaded (92-93 octane)."

Welcome.

Good to see a young man take a stance on the issues.

It is okay to listen to liberal sources of information. (This part of you reminds me so much of myself it is scary). How do you rationalize the idea that you are well-informed when you admit to not only listening to one side of the issues, but also avoiding the other side?

Passing the quiz on here really doesn't give you any credibility.

Do a lot of reading.
Best advice in the world.

I'm in the oily armpit in Texas , in the industry, and I sure don't recall gas at .87 cents a gallon in the last twenty years.
But maybe a 14 year-old knows better than me.

I'm usually good at giving advice.

In this situation though, I practice what I preach. I read a lot. A lot.

I do read, but not nearly as much as I think I should.

First of all, gas was 87 cents at one gas station, not a average of any kind.

Second of all, I am young, and I have a young mind. My ideas conflict sometimes and I appreciate the help. I would like to be more informed. In this case, I like to stick to my first post on this thread, but my ideas conflict about my sources. Really I rarely listen to anything, but when I do, it is usually Rush Limbaugh, or CNN when it is on in a public place. That is what I watch currently news wise, other than that, I appreciate the advice.
