Default Jobless Recovery

the 21,000 new hires from Dept of Labor statistics from last month were ALL government hires. NONE of them were private sector!!!!

WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!

On top of that the report released Friday morning by Dept Labor also showed that job growth in December and January were very inaccurate. The January job growth value was changed from 112,000 to 97,000 and December's job growth value changed from 16,000 to 8,000.

So in the past 3 months jobs in the private sector have decreased by 23,000.
And if you consider an overall value they've still decreased by 2,000.

I don't believe it's the government's job to fix this state of affairs, but when the White House keeps bragging about how tax cuts are fixing this economy, I get upset. Tax cuts are their ONLY fiscal plank and obviously they're proving their worthlessness. So republicans will still brag about how tax cuts are the solution and the economy is great even though there are no new jobs.

But they'll still be saying how tax cuts fix everything... oh well.

Default His job on the line, his choice

It used to be that you could count on an election year to be pretty good for business, but not this time. A fraction of those tax cuts spent on infrastructure (which needs to be done anyway) would have had an immediate result, which is why we have seen that tactic used so often on the past.

Default You would think

You would think that for $500 Billion, you could buy a few more jobs. The problem is that defense is the most efficient way to spend money to boost the economy. Nor are tax cuts for the wealthy. But the net effect is huge expenses and lost revenue that creates huge deficits and does not help the economy. Not a great fiscal plan to me.

Default Not what I meant

Well since you can't edit here, I meant the military was NOT the most efficient way to boost the economy. Keynes was pretty much right. But if all that money is going to Iraq and the already rich, it is not going to do the same good for the economy as building a good $500 Billion dollar highway project. I mean that amount of money could only give five million Americans a six figure salary. Actually more than that because 25% of it would come back in taxes.

Default my take

Well I see the gang's all here.

I'm not sure these jobs are EVER coming back. And that's a BIG problem for the middle class. Manufacturing jobs are the bread and butter of a healthy large middle class.

Default Now hang on here...

You mean y'all didn't get the memo? TAX CUTS SOLVE EVERYTHING!!!! Need jobs? Tax cuts. Good economy? Tax cuts. Bad economy? Tax cuts. Cure for cancer? Tax Cuts!!!

It's all so simple when you're with the GOP. Of course, it might not turn out how they envision, but why let reality get in the way?

That's a relief. I was really worried about the future of professional formula car racing in the US, but now that I realize tax cuts can assure a bright future for racing, I can relax and eat some BBQ and have a beer.
