Default Mervyn's is a load of CRAP

I work at Mervyn's you see. And it's my third time there, so I know what to expect, but what happened to me is just plain wrong! The first time employed was Seasonal so that's why they didn't keep me, the Second time I was forced to quit because they wouldn't do anything about me being SEXUALLY HARASSED by another employee who was a GUY! And now I am back for the third time, because they heard I was talking to Attornies about it, and they are not even working me enough, they have me working only 8 hours a week! I need some opinions on what I should do. Continue to work at Mervyn's without complaining to anyone? Or should I continue to talk to Attornies about law suites? Or anything else that would be an Appropiate thing to do?

Please read this topic and post, I really need the advice, I am 17 and already getting screwed by a Corporation that doesn't care about their employees.

Let me get this right...

You work at a...whatzitcalled? Marvin's? I'm assuming it's a department store, or some other retail outlet.

So, anyway...you work at this store...and it's your THIRD time there? Are you a glutton for punishment? Is this the ONLY store you can work for? There's not a freakin' Walgreens you can go work for? (God knows, a chimp is over-qualified to work at THAT place)

Ok...I know you're only 17, so here's some solid advice...

Find a new job.

Welcome to the "real world." The fact that they don't care about you isn't a "Marvin's" thing. It's a "real life" thing. An employee is there to help benefit the store, and in exchange, they pay you for your time. Companies are not charity cases. They don't hire folks just because they're "nice." If you were hired as part-time help (meaning less than 35 hours), then they have every right to give you as many or as few hours as they want. You might not think it's fair, but your opinion does not count. Don't like it? Quit. That's your only option.

Oh...and remember this experience. It will be like this for the rest of your life. In Corporate America, life is not fair. Never was. Never will be.

Yeah I understand, but when I was working Part-Time and QUIT, They heard I was talking to a Law Firm about it, so they hired me back as SEASONAL. I know that I am still 17, and life is hard, I agree fully with what you said, but should Mervyn's do nothing about SEXUAL HARASSMENT? The guy who harassed me, as I was told, was a sexual predator. When I complained for 3 weeks straight about the issue, they did nothing, so I quit, and they fired the guy shortly afterwards becuase of points.

I appreciate the advice really, but I think more should be done to protect the employees at Corporations like this. They have in writing that they don't accept Sexual Harassment, but what did they do when it happened to me? Nothing they let it go, as it progressed, they guy was breathing down my neck when I walked into the break room, right behind...The door opened, he stopped abruptly, and made it look like he was doing something else. I thank god that happened, or I don't know what would've occured. It scared the crap out of me, when Mervyn's wouldn't do a thing about it. My parents got involved, still nothing happened the guy, still went farther. I was sleeping in the break room, becuase I wasn't feeling good right, well i woke up and he was right there in front of me, standing over me. He specifically asked me "DO YOU WANT TO BE RAPED?" he asked me that question twice. What did I do? I went and complained to managment. Do you see something wrong here besides the fact that life is harsh?

You didn't have to take the job, you know.

You quit. He quit. What more recourse should there be? It sounds like you're out for revenge or something.

You should have took a running start, and kicked him square in the balls, then threaten to repeat that action, if he ever did something like that again.
