We're number one only because of the people that push this country forward. The inventors, the business leaders, and those in the military that fight for our freedom. The only thing that holds us back from being as good as we might be are the people that can't provide for themselves and ask for hand-outs. Some cannot provide for themselves because of severe mental or physical handicap, but most quite simply have themselves to thank for their station in life, and no one in community has ANY responsibility to those people. As much as you might like to jade yourself, we are not in this together. Man is an island. We may connect with each other through "community" but that is temporary. We're born alone into our own thoughts, and we die alone into whatever awaits us individually, if anything at all. No one cares about you the way you SHOULD care about yourself. The second you stop asking others to help prop you up you will have made a big leap. This is reality.

what you fail to realize is that someone is going to have power. if its not us, or an ally of ours, its going to be an enemy. more enemies create more wars. what do you think iraq is going to look like 20 years from now? now that its a US ally they get many more benefits then they would have otherwise.

no. im not greedy, like you seem to be given your disposition on the outlook of things. you need to cheer up a little. be thankful for what you have. i know i am. i grew up in romania before i moved to the us. we lived in a communist ruled country. we would pray that the US invade us to save us from the russians. it might sound strange but its true. thank goodness the soviet union fell. i know what a totalitarian regime is like. what the US has is infinitely better and theres nothing you can say that can change that.

They could offer them proper rates if they wanted to, and the government could stop them monopolising the business, so we don't pay ridiculous amounts for clothes and luxory items, that cost them ony a few dollars to make.

Okay, why don't they invade every county that is being dictated? I'm sure Bush cares about saving the people from their horribe dictators, he just so happened to choose countries with oil, right?
