Yes, that's why they provoke US and others in the strait and other regions, they need tension and benefit from war.
As I said before in another thread, they are eating each other alive, and we wait for a major fight between the supreme leader and Ahmadinejad's lot any day. But nobody knows how much longer the world is going to be patient about Iran and the regime have passed all the crises in the past, they might over come this one as well, so merely waiting for them to fall apart is not the best option I believe.

When the more moderate Khatami government helped the US with Afghanistan intel and looked set to assist in the same way in Iraq, there was a real possibility of renewed diplomatic relations between the US and Iran, but GW Bush made it clear that the US were not interested in building bridges, only animosity, when he undid all of that potential in one sentence, branding Iran part of "the axis of evil".

He also undermined the Khatami Government with this stance and now we have Ahmadinejad. Good going.

Of course they want a solution that doesn't involve and whole lot of NON-Russians streaming into their country. Seems they only care when its their borders=) Where was this attitude when they had nukes aimed at us from Cuba? They sure need that Iranian oil too.

The Soviets never had nuclear weapons aimed at the US from Cuba, but the US has had missiles in Europe pointing at Russia for decades. The Russians are one of the few players acting moderately in this instance.

America will not attack Iran first. There would be hell to pay domestically.

However, America can't restrain Israel any more than China can restrain North Korea. It's out of our hands.

Israel is going to attack Iran. Iran will probably attack American forces in response. America will respond in its own right despite the opposition of many Americans.

In the event of hostilities Russia can intervene if it wants, but it does so at its peril. China won't intervene. It won't trade Iran for its relationship with America.

The only way to avert war is for a new Iranian revolution. The Iranian people need guns to defend themselves from their ruling class. Lots and lots of guns. Guns should be pouring into the hands of the Iranian people from everywhere on earth.
