In 1973 South Vietnam got into a naval battle with the PROC over Vietnam's portion of the Spartly islands, the South Vietnamese requested for the US 7th fleet to assist but the US trun down the request that resulted in the defeat of the South Vietnamese and the taking over of those islands by the PROC. After the reunification of Vietnam, the present Vietnam has been demanding PROC to return their portion of those islands, PROC has refuse to do so.

The same will happen, the USA will not respond to aid the Philippines if a naval war ensue, as long as the war is contain within the Spartly's without involving attacking the mainland of the Philippines and China the USA will not militarily aid the Philippines. The same thing happen in the 1970s when the Philippines surrender the Sabah island to Malaysia because the USA refuse to militarily fight with the Philippines.

Chances are a set of rules will be put forward that would also serve as an ultimatum for the Philippines to surrender those islands. The rule of war over the Spartly islands will be:
1. No nuclear weapons
2. No tactical nuclear or ballistic missiles
3. No attacking of mainland
4. Give all quarters to soldiers that surrender
5. The use of conventional weapons only

China's navy is too strong for the Philippines to handle. What ever resistance the Philippines will do will be symbolic and demonstration of their national pride for what is left of it

This is funny because we have a bunch of americans accusing China of being a bully and attacking smaller countries.

And its funny because america does a lot worse to a lot more countries.

Actually this isnt a thread of China being bullies , but of thier positions that last couple of years. In the last couple of years they talked tough to Japan, Taiwan, and now Philippines which are all small countries. I dont know why people keep bringing up the U.S. , Iam sure there are plenty of threads for that. Also for all those people who are history freak's , any country that has the power to dominate small countries usual does whether its in a small or large capacity. China , U.S. and Russia are in that position now , so all 3 of those countries are pushing everyone else around all over the world.

I guess it just so happens all the countries that surrounds China are small; Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand the few large countries such as India and Russia are also not being ignored by China.

Add to that how we gave China to the Communists.

And you can't say that we don't do that anymore.

We've killed, tormented, maimed, poisoned, starved, made homeless millions of people in Iraq for the ongoing love of so called Americans for lies, slaughter, misery and destruction, as just one example.
These geniuses at lies, slaughter and mayhem are modern day examples of Gen. Sherman and his maxim to attack civilians of all classes.

These kind of people spent the whole 20th century slaughtering people around the world by the millions.

These kind of people are anti-American and hate America's Mandate of Peace in our Declaration of Independence:

“to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them,” and to have “a decent respect to the opinions of mankind”


The Chinese call us Mei Gu,o beautiful people, but we've been acting very ugly for way over 100 years.

That is why the USA will not interfere if China decide to use force to take the islands away from the Philippines. At the same time China will not hesitate to use force as they have demonstrated that they are no different from the Americans they have killed their own millions of Chinese, suppress Tibet, invaded Vietnam and have dare the UK, Portugal and the USA to respond to their hard stance militarily and so far the PROC have out wink and out dare them.

Taiwan is at the moment still free because the USA have refused to give up Taiwan not just yet.

Whatever you want to blame China for since the Communists took over is America's responsibility, because the US facilitated the Communist takeover.

The USA is only about 300 years old, while China is about 1000 years old and in that 1000 years history China has committed so much atrocities against itself, against its neighbours and against other nations. I guess if the USA was responsible in creating communist China then this would make the USA good then because according to your premise the PROC is a good country. That is why the USA will support the PROC (a good country) over the Philippines in the Spartly island dispute.

The issue is not about whether China is a good country, though in many ways, they are more Christian than we.

The issue is that we Americans were supposed to be the Shining Example on the hill, the New Jerusalem of human progress and accomplishment, "nature's God gave us unprecidented wealth and power and we are throwing it all away on our ego gods of war.

In other words, we leave China alone if they wish to take the islands from the Philippines, let them, if they wish to invade Taiwan let them, if they wish to support Syria Assad let them etc. etc. I understand your position but I do not support it. Between China and the USA, I chose USA! and you chose China that is fine at least we know where we stand.

I prefer the ugly USA over the ugly PROC-China.
