You just decided to take it off topic by using a typical Israeli strategy -why are you not talking about someone else instead and the answer is - go open a thread on it. However I have just come from another forum where someone tried this spin, only to find the accused had started threads on Syria and contributed a lot to that debate. It is better to deal with what is, rather than spin to avoid it.

Firstly, the thread concerns the US of AIPAC ceasing to bomb civilians in Afghanistan. It currently does this with drones. It's believed that the US of AIPAC pays collaborators to fix GPS transmitters to cars/buildings/whatever which might house Afghan resistance fighters. These are then targeted by cowardly arseholes 8,000 miles away in the US of AIPAC. Of course, these collaborators are generally terrified of the resistance and wouldn't risk getting anywhere near them for ten times what they are offered out of the American taxpayers' public purse. Instead, they fix the transmitters to soft targets which are then struck with drone strikes or other aerial means. Now, to try to divert attention from this practice by comparing it with the civil war in Syria is ludicrous. Chalk and cheese. So anybody wanting to discuss the civil war in Syria can do so outside of this unrelated thread- and I'll be pleased to respond.

Syria actually is a good comparison. Both in Afghanistan and Syria, there are rebel groups receiving outside help that are fighting the local government.

We're against the rebels in Afghanistan. We're siding with the ones in Syria.

Apparently, our detractors here side with the rebels in Afghanistan but are against the rebels in Syria.

In either case, it's a bit hypocritical.

We're better off just not siding with either rebel group. We need to get out of Afghanistan and stop messing with Syria as well.

Then, finally, people can (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about some country other than America.
