    (Reuters) - WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange has asked for political asylum in Ecuador and officials in the South American nation are considering his request, its foreign minister said on Tuesday.

    "Ecuador is studying and analyzing the request," Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino told reporters in Quito.


    I said years ago, if I was Assange I'd have gotten well away from Europe and sought asylum in Pyongyang...

    It would also be hard to run a whistleblowing internet site from a city not particularly known for its internet connectivity.

    Quito is too close to America...
    Internet activity from DPRK is most restricted by America, and you can't pretend that Julian can use the Internet freely in America...
    It's too funny seeing Americans lecture North Korea about Internet freedom in a topic about Julian Assange...

    He should come back to Australia where the Federal Police told the Australian Government that he has broken no Australian laws after the Federal Government told the media that he has.
