One of the odd complexities to Syria is who is really in charge? I think the real problem here is Maher al-Assad, Assad's brother. But ultimately, who are these Syrian Rebels?
Perm any 3 from 5 NATO key countries running matters , add a few locals , add a few paid mercenaries plus extremist Muslim groups acting independently but broadly not impeding NATO activities , and you probably have something near the reality .
We are moving to a Balkans scenario -- country split into about 3 distinct regions .
