Which party is going to end our War on Drugs, as we currently know it so I can vote along party lines. Which candidate is going to run on that platform in November?

Why not be more fiscally responsible during time of lowering taxes and therefore, not real times of war. We could be securing the Bliss of bearing true witness to our own laws, and any liberty thereby derived, from those powers not delegated to our republican form of Government and retained by the People in their sovereign capacity as natural civic persons in our republic.

Balderdash. The order is all about restoring communications in the event of a national or regional ememrgency. Nothing we haven't been doing for the last 60 years.

Not having such a system in place would be to give our enemies, whether al Qaeda or National Vanguard, a means by which to utterly cripple us and leave us unable to resist.

Not having such a system in place could leave entire sections of the country with no means of coordinating relief efforts after the next Katrina-sized disaster.

Do spend some time finding out how these things work.

Well, the answer to that would be none, in the main.

Why not?

Several reasons.

There is the small matter, that the powers that be don't really want a drug free or very small % of people that take drugs, anyway.

Think about it.

It gives them the chance to create another, almost shapeless enemy, and use that same sort of WE ARE TAKING CARE OF IT AND WE ARE TOUGH rhetoric aka The War On Drugs. They like to create such rhetoric, and the dumbed down mass, and the conservative nature, which tends to love authority, are all appeased. It is a charade. The Gov and the cops know it is a war that can never be 'won', least of all, not this way.

It is just one entire circus, and a very costly one at that, to you, the taxpayer.

All those police man hours, all the related costs, and a lot of the time they are not even getting a big haul of anything, in the bulk of cases, the offences are for small amounts, tiny, personal use. You bust that person, what good does it do? You bust his dealer, another will say, thanks for doing that.

If driving down the numbers in society that routinely abuse drugs, prescription or otherwise, is the TRUE objective, then a waste of money charade does NOTHING to achieve it, in reality.

But that is not really what the end game of our leaders, tends to be, hence why SO much is spent on this 'war'. And it will never ever end, or be 'won', their way.

For them, it acts as a reason to exist in some cases, and justifies their depts, their jobs, their role as a politicians, or whatever.

It is an easy political hobby horse, because someone stands up, and says 'I am gonna get tough on drugs', is going to appeal to the mindless drones.

It is as empty as statement as someone standing up and saying 'I am just sooo against sex offenders'. Hollow.

Rampant miuse of drugs, it destroys communities, it destroys families, and friendships, it stops the person from learning, or even care what is going on.

You still think the powers that be would want there to be zero drug use?

If every single American stopped taking drugs, the powers that be would likely flood the streets themselves, under new made up organisations.

Don't forget, Daniel, your plutocracy also allowed for the privatisation of .... your prisons.

No incentive to keep visitors low, is there, after all, a crime free nation, or one which not many go to prison..no use to the private contractor, is it?

That's also why you will always have a high repeat offend rate.

They do not want to drive it down, not really. If they did, they would copy the Bastoy Island model.
