"ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - The White House said on Thursday that a deal reached with lawmakers on the treatment of detainees would allow the CIA's questioning of foreign terrorist suspects to continue.
"We got what the president asked for," White House spokesman Tony Snow said. "The CIA program to question detainees to get important information about al Qaeda, to foil plots and save American lives -- this program is going forward." http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...namo_deal_dc_2

If you think Bush beat McCain on this you're an idiot as NO DETAILS WHATSOEVER HAVE BEEN RELEASED OTHER THAN ITS A COMPROMISE. Sound more like JP5's beloved Bushasaurs caved faster than a chinese coal mine.
The proof is in the pudding and so far no one knows what's in that pudding. But you just know no matter how big a loser Bush is on this so-called "compromise", that JP5 will claim victory. She just never admits defeat even after she's been arguing in here for more than the past week for what Bush has surely given up on. But she'll follow Tony Snow's line, claim victory, be laughed at as a braying arse and go on in her imaginary George in Wonderland fantasy world. Probably no waterboarding. Certainly no revisions of the Geneva Convention Code General Article 3. Probably no secret evidence not shared with the defendants' and their counsels. Bush tried to play hardball, enlisted all his foolish minions of the devil promoting torture, and then got butch-slapped by McCain, Warner and Powell. Then Bush tried to be conciliatory. If Bush comes out the winner on this, then I don't know John McCain as well as I think I do. |

"I'm pleased to say that this agreement preserves the single most potent tool we have in protecting America and foiling terrorist attacks," the president said, shortly after administration officials and key lawmakers announced agreement following a week of high-profile intraparty disagreement.
Sen. John McCain of Arizona, one of three GOP lawmakers who told Bush he couldn't have the legislation the way he initially asked for it, said, "The agreement that we've entered into gives the president the tools he needs to continue to fight the war on terror and bring these evil people to justice." I KNEW John McCain would come around. I KNEW he would not abandon us on this issue of national security. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...s_terrorism_76

Tony Snow says the President got what he asked for, and Beagle takes that to mean the President was butch-slapped.
"We do not torture" = promoting torture. Are you running the DNC, Beagle??

You get a LITTLE -- you give a LITTLE.
We'll see if Bush gave away what you neocons in here have been arguing for all week. But I still suspect you to latch on to meaningless words to hide your disappointment and claim victory. More word games al la the GOP. Boy they must really be desperate. By the way, how's old George Allen doing lately? Or Santorium? Or Talent? Or Burns? Oops. I just opened the many doors of perception for JP5 to hallucinate over. Well, I might as well give her a little Jim Morrison to go along with that trip: "THIS IS THE END. MY FRIEND, THIS IS THE END." Or maybe a little Janis Joplin is more appropriate: "CRY, CRY BABY! CRY BABY! CRY BABY!" |
