Default So you don't like stating a truism to obstruct a lie?

So you don't like this classic tactic of stating a truism to obstruct your real motive which may a lie or a slight distortion of the truth.

This tactic is also used to wrap a the truth around a lie. Don't you Kanadians understand these things

The end may justify the means as long as there is something that justifies the end.

Default talking about waterboardng....

...is not talking about waterboarding - is it only talking about waterboarding if he knew at the time it was waterboarding he was talking about? - and the gullible sheep here are still bleating.

And Tony didnt lie; he didnt know what was in Cheney's mind, precisely, at the precise time that he uttered these words. Perhaps the VP was thinking about hot-tub sex as he reflected on a 'dunk in the water'? So, no one lied....again!

We Don't Torture

It's NOT torture. Making someone believe they might die to get them to talk is not torture. He was not harmed----still has all his fingers, toes and even his ugly head!
Actually, it IS torture. The United States prosecuted Japanese interrogators for waterboarding. We called it torture then and it's no less grotesque when we do it now.

So are you saying that when the question of "waterboarding" was asked then the VP did not really understand the question and he took the question literally?

Default ...

Republican followers will believe every lie that this administration brings forward. I am absolutely sure of this. They will never abandon this party despite the overwhelming lies. Cheney says one thing Bush says another, and then they both say the public didn't hear what is on record as being said. It is totally ridiculous...

Now for my 2 cents, torture is wrong. It was wrong during the inquisition and it is wrong now. Even when you put aside the notion that people who have nothing to do with terrorism could be wrongly arrested and tortured for information they dont have. It is barbaric and the people being tortured are just going to lie sending soldiers on a wild-goose-chase for things that dont exist.

Al-jizeera reports all of these tortures and they are broadcast through-out the world. This is why terrorism and anti-westernism will continue. It is not just Americans who see this torture going on. All through the arab states people who would once have been moderate or pro-western grow frustrated with the US and its allies. We are playing right into the enemies hands.

Default Snow at a low point

Cheney is not a guy who “slips up,” -Tony Snow

This is a sad comment by Tony Snow. This is America at it's best??? With comments like that, it seems that the only important principle is.... not getting caught.

BTW, Cheney did "slip up"
