Well, the Democrat Obama administration supports Mubarak. And, they do not want him to step down from power. So, I guess the protesters are going to have to be crushed to keep Washington happy.

Biden, as has been noted, is a schmuck.
The real power to make this a successful revolution lies with the Muslim Brotherhood. They have not become involved, to date, and there are millions of them in Egypt. The oppressive regime has passed laws to make them illegal but they simply stand for parliament as independents. Of course, the elections are fixed. Today , the country has been called to join the street protests, after prayers, and it is not known what the Muslim Brotherhood will be saying in the mosques. You can be certain though that the Egyptian establishment will already have given orders for live fire. We won't know what will happen until we see if the police and army, themselves oppressed Egyptians, will obey.
