Default We are the Iranian people NOT THE IRANIAN GOVERNMENT!

Yahoo mail website has recently removed "Iran" from the list of world countries in its signup page!

We, the nation of Iran, assume it contrary to professional ethics to deny a nation and violate fundamental human rights for any reason, including the so-called political tensions between states and governments.

We, therefore, ask Yahoo! to add Iran to the mentioned list again and officially provide a plausible explanation for offending thousands of Persian Yahoo! users by removing their country name.

Iran is a country with 7000 years of glorious, rich heritage and extensive history, a land in which lots of great artists, scientists and distinguished individuals have been flourished throughout the ages

You can easily find the great Iran (Ancient Persia) on the world map, shaped like a sweet cat and shining as an eternal star in the sky of peace and friendship among nations.

Default Mullahs

If you'd boot the Mullah thugs running your country maybe you'd get a bit more respect?

Yikes. Just ignore that....

Hello, Iran!!!

Hey, blessings and peace be upon you, brothers and sisters.

I'm just an ordinary US citizen, just a "voter". And I don't how my government feels about your government.

But I, personally, want you guys to have internet access. I want you to be able to communicate, and I want you to be able to experience and enrich yourselves with the "world at large", and not be isolated into a little tiny corner of it just because your government and mine don't get along.

So, how can I help? What can I do? Should I write Yahoo or something? I don't do any business with them, so I can't "boycott" them - what else can I do?

My guess would be.

1) The result of sanctions/political pressure.

2) The Iranian government filters the web.

I am leaning towards sanctions/political pressure. I know many banks no longer do business with Iran. I think many American companies will likey refuse to deal with Iran as a result of political pressure.

Yahoo isn't trying to attack Iranians.
