Okay so what is your opinion of Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton (Lies about and to the American people) & Representative Jefferson? I am in no way saying the Dems don't have standards... just wondering why there was, is no outrage.

3 bad guys who faced, or are facing their trials in courts of legal, and public opinion.

Either way, I doubt he can say "But, other politicians have gotten away with stuff"

There was outrage in all three cases. But, if you're claiming republicans have some kind of standard where they throw their bad apples into the ditch, remember bob ney, who in 2006 plead guilty to corruption charges, and remained in office without resigning for nearly a month.

My opinion is that any group of 700 or so federal officials will have some people doing illegal, immoral and valueless things.

Those people who claim some kind of "advantage" on legitimacy, morals, and values have a lot harder a fall when thy do illegal, immoral and valueless things.

Man, congress is full of literal criminals. Check these statistics out:

* 29 members of Congress have been accused of spousal abuse.

* 7 have been arrested for fraud.

* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks.

* 117 have bankrupted at least two businesses.

* 3 have been arrested for assault.

* 71 have credit reports so bad they can't qualify for a
credit card.

* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges.

* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting.

* 21 are current defendants in lawsuits.

* And in 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving, but released after they claimed Congressional immunity.

Vito Fosella, the subject of this thread. Called the Clinton impeachment "A great day in American history."

So, while you list Democrats who have done bad stuff, this guy is even worse, because of the overt hypocrisy.


He was booted from comittees and stripped of all party funds. He narrowly won reelection.

He'll face his own day in court soon.

Don't we all? And it's not the affair, but the drunk driving. Guy should go to jail.

If he does, he's going to cost the GOP a seat.

Ney as convicted, unlike any of those democrats you keep referring to, and after being convicted, (of corruption charges he remained in office, in the capital, as a represenative.

He was a convict, for corruption, remained in congress.



Ted Kennedy was cleared, Clinton was never convicted of any crime, and Jefferson has been stripped of all power, and party money.

No more than Democrats; see Sen. Vitter, Craig, etc.

Don't we all. But, in our legal system, and in the court of public opinion, it certainly isn't for conservatives to simply decide that a Democrat comitted a crime they were never convicted of, or vice versa.
