Well put, Southpaw.

Commit a crime in Texas, you pay the price that the Texans set.

Don't like it? Stay home.

Oh, agreed; the Court has no actual legal authority here.

Dun dun dun!!!! It *can't* just be a coincidence, can it?

That is kind of funny though. We'd kick the Sudanese' ass though in a fight... true story.

how is that good for texas. what if a texan now gets arrested in mexico and his rights are violated and he is refused help from the US consulate. If we are going to sign the geneva convention and expect the world to follow it, then surely we should follow it as well
The Geneva conventions apply to prisoners of war. This guy is not a prisoner of war.

Why does the UN get involved in this case? B/c he is an illegal that has no barring at all, so illegals should be given lesser punishment. Another reason to hate the UN and love Texas.
I adore Texas. It's truly the best of America.

I've good friends that live in Texas and they've often spoke of the problems with going to Mexico and how absurd it is that when Mexicans get arrested in Texas, they're treated with kid gloves and given all manner of courtesies; but when Texans get arrested in Mexico, they're provied no courtesies and treated like crap.

This is for the person that said that this wasn't good for Texas, because some Texan may get arrestedin Mexico. Apparently it happens everyday.

Ok, so the World Court rewrote the GC in 2004 to include illegal aliens?. We are not signatory to the WC, and they think we have to follow their rules? That is insane.

Hey Big Red! Do you remember that long discussion we had a few months ago about why we decided to now sign onto the WC? Remember I how posted links to government officials that said they did not sign it because it would violate our sovereignty? Well here is a perfect example of how it would have.

As we are not signatory to them, we would not be protected under them if this happened to one of our citizens. Good, if you go someplace illegally, then rape and murder a 14 year old girl, you shouldnt be protected. You should be tried according to the laws of that country, and get the punishment that country sets.

He's a RAPIST MURDERER. Maybe he should have learned the laws in the United States before he broke into the United States. FRY THE BASTARD.

The only thing that saddens me outside of the victim being murdered by this dirt bag is that I don't get to spend an evening with him. I have a pipe, pliers, curling iron and a water board to entertain him with.
