and beside, the UN personnel are clearly identified.
The UN shouldnt be in a war zone unless they want to be fired upon or possibly killed.

Quote:
Hang on a minute here - are you saying Israel is justified to fire on UN aid personnel?
If they are in the way, yes.

Quote:
Yes- but since they are stuck in Gaza, they might go to some sort of refuge - maybe a UN sanctuary that was set up in a UN school?
You mean the UN school, where residents saw Hamas militants launching rockets from? That UN school?

I don't think you understand the significance of Us dropping its unwavering support. There is something very bad in the water in Gaza...
Well, it needs to get bad, b/c the last 60 years, hasnt achieved anything. War is hell, and unless you are willing to go all the way and exterminate your enemy, then there is no use in going to war in the 1st place.

Its time Isreal cleaned Hamas & Hezbollahs clock, once and for all.

Why is it silly?

There is no point to cease fires In the Isreali/Palestian conflict. Havent we learned anything in 60 years?

UN shouldnt be in the way. How do you determine, if your Isreal, that the supplies coming in arent going to Hamas when Hamas hides among the general population?

Which is why they deserve no mercy. I dont care if it takes 300 years to kill them all, it is a worthy goal.

Israel thought there was a point to it - they arranged it.

Can't shoot at the UN, period. The UN is your country and mine, delivering relief supplies our governments have donated for the Palestinians.

So that makes it your turn to furnish a single photo of a Hamas militant in action, wearing a uniform.

Do you know what a bandana is?
As for wearing the ski masks, I guess its part of the history of the militia,
Right, and I wear a ski mask to my Elk's Club lodge meetings all the time too.

I got a better idea: wear a uniform when you're on-duty. Then the Israeli's will know who to target, and who not. Do you ever take a moment to think, by the way?

Quote:
Do US or IDF military personnel wear their uniform when off duty? If not, are they hiding amongst the civilians?
Wow, you got me there! And the US and IDF kill citizens when wearing civilian clothes too, right? Oh, wait, no they don't. IDF and US soldiers only act militarily when in uniform. Why is that, I wonder? ---- Do you ever stop to read what you're typing?

Quote:
If they are wearing ski masks when on duty, as you have just admitted- they are pretty easy to distinguish from civilians, aren't they?]
Well, I'm stunned. I never claimed anything of the sort. Hamas members only wear ski masks only at rallies. You're claiming they do it during their off hours too, now? As some sort of method of identifying themselves as militants? Wow....

Quote:
So how does this justify shooting the clearly identified non-combatants?
Not justifies, Einstein, the argument was it excuses. Given an enemy which actively hides among civilians, what would you expect?

What amazes me about the Arab-Israeli conflict is not so much the actions of the participants, but the inability of certain people to take a side in the conflict. The two participants are as diametrically opposed as can be, and yet people cannot make up their minds on who is fundamentally in the right. One side is a democratic state which gives full enfranchisement to every religion and creed, while the other openly professes to seek the destruction of a free and democratic state, - and yet people continue nitpicking military casualties and UN resolutions, refusing to take a stand in the name of what they believe is right.

Do the people that live in Israel have a right to peace, to self-determination? If so, then how can anyone justify 70 years of war and terrorism on the part of Palestine and its Arab neighbors?

then by your logic the u.s. deserves no mercy. i respectively suggest that we begin by addressing the causes instead of symptoms ~ it will be better for everyone.

Agreed. The UN is undeniably worthless.
