Default UN suspends Gaza aid operations after attacks by Israelies

The UN's main aid agency has suspended its operations in Gaza because its staff have been hit by Israeli attacks
....

Meanwhile, the US, UK and France have dropped opposition to a UN resolution urging an immediate ceasefire.
...
"Our installations have been hit, our workers have been killed in spite of the fact that the Israeli authorities have the co-ordinates of our facilities and that all our movements are co-ordinated with the Israeli army."
...
The International Committee of the Red Cross has also accused Israel of failing to fulfil its duty to help wounded civilians in Gaza.
...
Meanwhile, Amnesty International accused both Israel and Hamas of using civilians as human shields.

Looks like the Israelis have gone too far. there isn't a single voice in support of them now.

When even the US drops their unstinting support, you know there is a serious problem here.

Ya know what though, Hamas dresses and lives among the population.

For all Isreal knows, those supplies are going to the enemy militants.

Think about it, if your fighting an enemy that is holed up with civilians, why would you want a 3rd party supplying them? How do you know who is who and that your enemy is not getting the supplies brought in? Do they think the UN is going to tell an armed Hamas leader no you cant have it?

It really doesnt make any kind of sense. Any logical civilian would have got the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of dodge by now.

The potential benefit that Hamas may gain from the delivery of UN supplies is a million times less significant than the suffering that Gazan civilians will now continue to endure thanks to Israel.

Hang on a minute here - are you saying Israel is justified to fire on UN aid personnel?

Have you considered what you are saying here?

Yes- but since they are stuck in Gaza, they might go to some sort of refuge - maybe a UN sanctuary that was set up in a UN school?

Surely that might be safe from the IDF...

I don't think you understand the significance of Us dropping its unwavering support. There is something very bad in the water in Gaza...

What? The United Nations suspending operations?

What operations were they doing in the first place?? This is a useless organization.

They were presumably attempting to deliver supplies when Israel shelled one of their convoys...

Kind of a silly post from you Mr. Hat. Israel agreed to a temporary cease fire specifically so relief supplies could be brought in. It was during this cease fire that they shelled the UN convoy.

I've seen the UN in action in developing countries. They do some good work. Specifically in this case they were delivering relief supplies as is pretty apparent if you check with any news source. It's hardly a secret so I'm not sure how you could be unaware of what they were doing.

Right, let's start an organization! We'll call it The Committee to Help those People Who Want to Kill Us! And we'll bless it at the altar of those fat inconsequential people who make vacuous opinions on messageboards such as this!
