Default Aborigines in Australia

Hello, i am a student from Taylor's University College. Currently studying the South Australian Matriculation program. i was asked to do the assignment for my T.E.R titled "Can legislation adequately protect the rights, interest and welfare of the Aboriginal people in Australia". Throughout my research, i found out that the Aborigines are still being discriminated in Australia and the legislation does not really protect them. Is it true?
