This story was written by a local newsletter- The Keystone Freedomist. They do not have a web page- Paper did not scan well. But this story opened my eyes to why crime is hard to stop. No suprise money is involved.
"Build a Better Rat Trap.
If the burglary victims of Marc Serrano had their way, he possibly would have spent several more years locked up for his crimes. However, the 25 year old, from upper middle class America, walked out of jail with a multiple page rap sheet to rejoin society. Marc and other convicted felons are not bad boys turned Gum-shoe, as liberals would have us think, but a cash cow for lawyers.
Only months ago he was arrested again. This time for forging and displaying auto insurance- vehicle registration and auto inspection on the car he was driving and it doesn’t matter to money hungry lawyers that Marc’s license was suspended or that had a long list of felonies to his name already.
According to Court Dockets and courthouse data- Marc Serrano Rathgerber was operating the unregistered vehicle on a suspended License while serving three year probation for some of his crimes. Yet he is shown special treatment in exchange for ratting on other criminals- even after committing insurance fraud and forgery. Anyone can get away with anything if they have information for authorities.
This Case is not an Anomaly, but one of many” talk and walk” cases in the state. Pennsylvania troopers say criminals who inform or snitch on other crooks get a pass from those who work in offices and do not deal with actual crimes on the street.
Narks are encouraged by lawyers to snitch. Police are then left to arrest and re-arrest the same people in a revolving door of crimes, information and wrist slapping.
Most felons are always felons. They spend short time in custody learning from other convicts and each time they walk- they learn more about crime. This talk and walk policy only allows them to continue to act as they wish and disregard the law.
Lawyers and office officials only seem to crave another check mark in the win column. They profit from each client who talks and rejoins the public only to commit more crimes and affect the lives of those who do not break the law."
No wonder we have so many crimes- the door swings both ways for the dollar.
