Default More news distortion to come

Don't worry, it's all right; it's a right.

Quote:
FOX did not dispute that it tried to force Akre to broadcast a false story, but argued that, under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports. This would be the sixth time that Fox had used this argument in court.

The court agreed with WTVT's (Fox) argument "that the FCC's policy against the intentional falsification of the news -- which the FCC has called its "news distortion policy" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Akre

Default oh my God....

So now, we're going to get the "conservative spin" on the market?

That's rich - I'd like to see Rupert try that one.....

Well, the WSJ will probably end up partnering with the Fox Financial Network, that team makes a lot of sense from a business standpoint.

I don't know about you guys, but i don't really read the WSJ for its
political spin anyway....

I don't care for Murdoch. He's too much of a liberal for me:

"In 2007 at the age of 76, Rupert Murdoch has showed that he is still open to change. The media mogul released an ambitious plan to to tackle the problems of global warming by making his global corporation carbon neutral. He told 47,000 employees that they will not only cut their energy use, but that the word on climate change will also be put out through his many media outlets."

Nothing like forcing such propaganda through his media outlets.

funny... but no thanks.

I don't hang around NewsCorp websites and their membership of +30,000 convicted sexual predators.

This is silly. Fox News would never do something like that. It's a global warming no spin zone.

To counter Murdoch I'm trying to get my company to increase its carbon footprint. I am drafting a memo suggesting we use far more energy, throw out more paper, invest in new dirtier burning equipment, increase emissions of all chemicals to record levels and replace all company vehicles with Hummers that burn only leaded gas (catalytic converters removed, of course).
