I've been trying to find the answer this question for a long time. Why is Limbaugh so popular or rather why is his program on so many radio stations some of which are very small and rural. Doesn't it cost the stations anything to have him on? Is it cheaper than having a Disc Jockey? Yet guys like Howard Stern (when he was on public radio) supposedly cost a lot of money and was therefore on a limited amount of stations.

Rush charges nothing for his program. He needs the stations to make use of an antiquated system of measuring the size of an AM station formulated in the 60's when most people listened to AM radio. He gets his money from the sponsors who actually think he has a large listening audience.

It's a scam!
