Does anybody else out there find this alarming? The 3 major networks are devoting 1 hour a night to each of the conventions. At the maximum this means 10 hours of combined convention coverage. Fox spent 3 times that (with higher ratings) to find the next American Idol.



I'm kinda new here so if this topic was addressed earlier, I apologize.

Its pretty clear cut I think:

Watching a bunch of politicians argue about whos lying more doesn't sell...while watching a bunch of random people trying to sing does...

We already know who is going to be nominated. Why show a commercial for a political party? There is no drama involved, just self-aggrandizement.
