Since Clark was on Real Time with Bill Maher I felt compelled to watch it since I really love Clark (he would have gotten my vote today had he stayed in the running). I really should have known better.
As usual I ended up getting so angry that I nearly made myself sick. This time however it wasn't due to Bill Maher himself (surprisingly). Richard Belzar (?) was on and he just totally disgusted. He was rude to Ann Coulter and acted like a real jerk. I can understand not agreeing with someone's views or even outright not liking them, but to be so rude and insulting was uncalled for and only served to make him look like a idiot. And then of course there was the audience. Bill Maher was quoting lines from bin Laden's tape and the audience was applauding. Yes. They were applauding things that bin Laden had said. I swear to God my heart stopped for a second when I heard those clapping hands. Is this what America has come to? Is this the sad and disgusting level some liberals out there have sunk to? To dare to applaud anything bin Laden said is a just so disgusting that it is beyond words. I felt such an overwhelming sense of betrayal by my own countrymen. That they could sit there and clap away at quotes from a bin Laden...a gross monster...was about the lowest thing I have ever witnessed.

Yeah I saw that show too, and Kevin Costner was on too and seemed to me to be the most reasonable of everyone there.
And if Belzer is so convinced that everything Ann Coulter says is nonsense, then he should just shut up and let her speak. He cut her off and talked over her every time. The easiest way to prove someone is an idiot is to let them speak, but he was afraid to let her. |

Catz: I'm right there with you as a Democrat (a conservative one at that) who has found other Democrat's behavior repulsive. The last months have left me wondering if maybe I should move myself on over the Republican's side of the fence since I have lost so much faith in my own political party. Between Michael Moore, Bill Maher, all of liberal Hollywood, and the despicable people in Bill Maher's audience, I really am starting to think that I might just have to change parties.
Ozek: I know exactly what you mean about Kevin Costner being the only reasonable person on the show. I was very proud of his behavior and I was extremely impressed with what he had to say. So far he has been the only actor/celebrity who has made any sense when it comes to this election.
