Default Who else would like to vote Chris Rock off "Oscar Island?"

What were they thinking letting Chris Rock host the Academy Awards?? Just look at the contrast between a host like Johnny Carson and "presenting this year, CHRIS ROCK!" What a joke... No class and a complete racist with every comment between awards based on his black agenda.. Dont get me wrong I had no problems with awards to Morgan Freeman and Jamie Fox, and I applaud Freeman for not reaching out to thank a black person somewhere, but Chris Rock was a bad choice for host..

Default f

Dude, he was friggin hilarious. I couldnt stop laughing. That opening skit was great. Neither could my black friend. It wasnt racist at all. Everyone in the audience also seemed to have enjoyed it. I'm sure he'll return next year.

Default He was mediocre at best

I snickered once at the monologue, but thought he did well as the night went on. I don't think he was racist, that's just his schtick. He makes fun of black people on his stand up quite a bit.

But he was mediocre, his reviews have been horrible. He got torched in the papers.

Default White House = no sense of humor (or no sense at all)

"1000s called to complain to ABC?"

com, on stop the lies.

I can just see 1,000s of horn-rimmed-purple-hair republicans calling to complain about the Gap vs. Banana republic joke. It was funny - live with it.

Default I didn't watch but

I heard all of Chris's presentation on the radio this morning. He's a real funny guy. He's especially funny when he's not restricted by being at a awards show. About every joke he had was pretty funny except the Banana republic joke--I wasn't offended, it just wasn't funny.

Default Bad, bad, and Bad

I thought he was terrible. A regular comedy routine that one can see at a comedy club for the opening....and that was it?? I miss Billy Crystal's fabulous openings. Plus, Chris Rock didn't seem comfortable hosting. All in all, I kind of felt sorry for him.

Default He's pure stand up..

I can watch this guy do stand up and I can laugh some, but he has an agenda.. I just wish I could have watched a black host that still doesnt feel he needs to remind America about divided lines, get over it already. His comments during the show were subtle but I was seeing through the lines. Anyway, thats just me.. And before you think Im racist I can watch Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy or Chepelle talk for days, but Chris Rocks just annoys me.

You have to expect that. It is Hollywood. I thought he was going to be more political.

As I said before I didn't watch but I heard his entire monologue on the radio. It was funny when he did his shtick about Jude Law. Then I heard Sean Penn come out and criticize Rock and inform everyone(cause we're all stupid compared to Penn ) about how great Jude Law is. Talk about what a self centered prick Penn is.

Default .

I thought he did a good job. The Gap/Banana Republic joke didn't fit the Iraq/US situation because he said that "Banana Republic never had or made tank tops" and it is clear that Iraq did, once upon a time, have WMD.

But he showed that he had a sense of humor and was able to self-deprecate. I am sure the red states would have preferred Billy Crystal, but I think the Oscar people actually wanted to keep the audience awake this year. But don't fret, perhaps Jeff "you might be a redneck" Foxworthy will host next year.
